After beating the defending, and possible this year's, Class 3A State Champion, Belfry 29-20, and Mayfield's lackluster win over Graves County, 21-0 is Pikeville the team to beat in Class 1A?

After knocking off the #1 rated team in 3A, I believe Pikeville is the real deal and should be at least the 2 rated team in class 1A. A very impressive win.

They may be but Mayfield does have some nice wins and 1 nice loss to a very good 6A McCracken County. Pikeville turned some heads with this win and could be a top contender.

No. They are #2 until they have a chance to prove otherwise and then make good on that chance. Mayfield is not to be questioned by anyone in 1A as of today.

Pikeville Beating Belfry is much > than Beechwood beating Franklin Co...IMO

 

4 of Pikeville's opponents only have one loss ( to Pikeville) Hazard, Prestonsburg, Paintsville and Belfry

Mayfield will win the west while Beechwood, Williamsburg and Pikeville will fight for the right to play Mayfield. For now Pikeville is the #2 team after beating Belfry but regardless of that whoever wins the east will have to beat Mayfield to win state. No way around it.
