  1. Mayfield will receive the kickoff to start the 2ND half
  2. Next reclassification DeSales needs to ask for small college status. That's just crazy for 2A football in this state.
  3. I quite enjoy seeing this the first week of December, ready for it to return on Monday. Death, taxes, and Mayfield taking the field at LT Smith stadium.
  4. While Cal Preps acknowledges the home team in its prediction, it only gives a "neutral" field score. Home field should work for 3 or 4 points to NCC and Mayfield, making NCC a 1 touchdown underdog, and Mayfield a field goal favorite.
  5. It's about acting like you've been there before, and no one has been in this spot more than Mayfield. If beaten, we'll give credit where credit is due. Mayfield is a class act on that football field, and you can ask any coach who lines up on the other side, he'll tell you the same.
  6. Verizon tower less than 2 miles up the road, you will have an excellent signal.
  7. With this being a holiday weekend, and Mayfield being the only team left in the far end of the state, I wouldn't dare be late for this one. It was always full when Beechwood made the 5 hour trip. With the hype that this one is getting, I can only imagine.
  8. I value the opinion of the Mayfield posters who have actually seen the Colts play a few weeks ago. How many of you DeSales fans have taken in a Mayfield game or, at the very least, watch their games online. Just wondering how you can claim to be the superior 2A team and keep a straight face. And don't come back with that we're confident in our team junk. What did you SEE in watching Mayfield that gives you the upper hand. (((CRICKETS)))
  9. *Wouldn't trade our QB for either one that suited up for the opposition the last 2 weeks. *The name may change , Murray to Mayfield, but the 2A playoff roadblock will continue for OC. *Two stingy defenses will hit the field next week with a return trip to Bowling Green on the line.
  10. RZ 3 caught our safety deep for their only score, otherwise Cards defensive has neutralized him. Interception in the end zone really hurt Mayfield late in the 2ND Q. This has the makings of a one score game, sure needed those points
  11. Official CalPreps rankings, with last week's games factored in, don't come out until Tuesday. Some of your info you posted is a week old.
  12. Oddly enough, CalPreps predicts this game as only the 3rd closest in 2A this week. Both NCC and CAL are 7 point favorites... Mayfield is 9 (31 to 22) and Danville is an eye opening 24. ( Thread that posted other CalPreps stats were a week old )
  13. 277 yards x 0 TD passes still equals 0 points. Oh yeah, that was only 2 quarters of varsity defense. Think again on who has a better defense.
  14. Yeah, what was going on with Murray at the end of the regular season. They totally laid an egg at Tilghman and finished the season at .500. Hard to consider them an elite 2A team coming down the stretch. I like the change the defense put up against the pass heavy Butler Co. team, once everyone got settled in, they played lights out. LB and DE will play a huge role in slowing down the OC scoring train. Cards play the way they played last week, I will have no problem win or lose because I think that was their best effort overall of the season. If that's the case and they come out on the short end Friday night, then OC will have been the better team.
  15. Hard to tell with a bad bears defense, but I think this might be the best all around game Mayfield has put together this season. Only a couple of flags, they took care of the ball, and not to be left out, Arnett was spot on with the passing game. Really hitting their stride at the right time.
  16. Butlers defense has more holes than Swiss cheese. Henderson has a strong arm, but accuracy down the field is not great.
  17. If Butler could play a little keep away they could keep this game tight for a while, but playing an up tempo passing game will work to Mayfield's benefit. Something like 45 to 21.
  18. While a confident bunch, Monroe is just never on the same level as the top teams in their class. They are good for a couple of games in November and that's usually it. Colts by 5. 5 TDs that is.
  19. Officials were generally OK in the 1St half, my issues came in the 2ND when there was a pow wow seemingly after every other play, penalty or not. You'd think a crew with some NFL experience on it would have a better night. Chain gang and the time keeper weren't on top of their game either though. Bad night for a lot of folks in Princeton. Just happy this was not a playoff game and the season continues for both teams, despite anything that happened last night. There is a bright side for both of us.
  20. I think overall yards were fairly close in the stats. Bright ran for 106... Riley 128... Burns for 31. Arnett had the bigger passing numbers
  21. Ball is spiked and I turned my head to the clock and it is still running. Of course you would expect that from the home press box... Let it run out and see if the ref calls him out on it. And he did!. Didn't matter if it is .1, 1, or 2. There was no doubt there was time left in that game.
