t I caught the end of this one on IHIGH and I quite frankly couldn't believe the call. It looked well outside, probably close to a foot. I'm sure the Holy Cross fans had to be steaming with Tiberi on deck and bases would've/should've been loaded for him. Was there a reason Downs was pulled after 6?

Yeah I've heard it ping ponging back and forth for a while now, but have a feeling that the latest I've heard is accurate.

Fwiw - I've heard from a couple of sources that Mr Fox will not be at Dixie next year.

I would add Holy Cross to your list. CovCath is the obvious favorite but there should be some interesting games come tourney time.

Football is definitely Milligan's sport but he could be an important piece of the puzzle on the hardwood if he chooses to play. I've heard Niehaus has kicked around the idea of football, but he's already doing baseball along with hoops...guess he has to decide if he wants to do all 3.

Niehaus is in the 6'2-6'3" range and more suited for the #4. He prefers to face the basket offensively and has a nice mid-range jump shot. Milligan 6'4" (240#) is likely to be at the #5 if he ends up playing his senior year and would be a true post player. Other than those 2, the next in line for bigs would be someone off the frosh team this past year.

kypost.com is publishing recaps of games when teams send in their info. They seem to do the best job on the daily high school scene.

Would Pike have helped Dixie? Would Giesler have helped NCC? Would Thelen have helped CCH? Would Brown have helped Boone? Would Stauffer have helped Ryle? The answer is absolutely....but they've all moved on and none of them played this year. The ironic thing is Pike went out with his original class on the hardwood after people complained for years about the holdback situation.

I disagree on Cooper being a bad match up for Dixie. If I had my choice of playing NCC, Holmes or Cooper in a first round game, Cooper would be my first choice. The game Wed night had little to do with how the teams matched up and a lot to do with Stansberry on the bench 70% of the game. If you're bringing post depth into the conversation, I'll agree that Dixie was short handed but so is most of the 9th region. The teams just played a couple of weeks ago and Dixie pretty much had their way with Cooper..there were zero matchup problems. In fact Cooper had trouble matching up with Dixie. Cooper played great the other night and Dixie didn't. All the pieces fell into place for the Jags, thus the upset...It's sports and upsets happen all the time. It's always tough to repeat, but Dixie was certainly capable regardless of who the opponent was.

BINGO! Also Dixie up 5 with 2 mins to go and Boone in a 2-3 zone....Dixie still jacking up shots.

All Dixie had to do was take care of the ball the final minute and get to the foul line, and they very likely walk out with the W.

Second half scoring clinic for Hatton.....great job pulling Dixie back from 16 down. I know Dixie had a couple of players under the weather for this one. Hopefully everyone gets healthy and they have a strong weekend.

The Enquirer is really struggling this season. I think most are now going to kypost.com to get box scores, etc.

I would put Hightchew on Ruthsatz. Brady's defense will be more important than his offense in this one imo.

Last year Dixie played down there on a cold night..big crowd and had the same problem with the floor. I'm sure the HC crew probably has a better handle on it but it seems to be linked to big crowds.

I agree. I would take him over some of the more "popular" guards in nky. Congrats to Cody.

I just think it will be interesting to see how they perform against NKY competition after the December schedule they've played. That's all.....we'll see.

We'll see how Stansberry and Hatton do against NKY competition......apples and oranges the level of competition that they have played against vs some of these on the list.

Are they getting exhaust fans for the gym?

W/L's right now against top competition aren't as important as competing hard and making adjustments moving forward. The schedule was made out in anticipation of Pike playing this year. Next week they travel to New York to play some top teams in the nation so don't look for a stellar record out of Dixie in December. I'm anticipating that they'll get on a roll after the first of the year.
