I'm only aware of 1 transfer at this time (Fox) the subject of this thread. McCormick would make 2 if that comes to fruition. The 4 returning starters all attended TFMS which feeds Dixie's program.

I'm hearing really good things about the Niehaus kid who was only an 8th grader last year and pegged some JV time at the end of the season. He's one to keep an eye on.

You are correct VOR. Pike would be vital to any Sweet Sixteen run Dixie would make....that being said, I think there is a VERY good chance you'll see him play his final year on the hardwood.

I think we're on the same page....over the span of a number of years, there's been a handful.

Really....How many top QB prospects do you know who are now playing another position? QB being the key word?

It really baffles me how out of touch a few people are when it comes to Pike and the QB position. Don't you think a school like Auburn has their choice from hundreds of top players across the country at EACH position. Why would they recruit Pike and throw him in a postion he's rarely/never played? .... makes no sense. If a few can't figure out he's been recruited as QB, well then......enough said.

Good win for Conner. They remind me alot of Boone last year getting hot at the right time.

I see where the player from Conner involved in the controversy from this game, had a really big night for the Cougars against CovCath. 2 hits, 2 rbi's, scored a run, and had a couple of really good defensive plays. :eek:

I heard it, other Dixie fans heard it, players and coaches heard it. It was directed at the catcher/Dixie dugout. Conner fans were cheering...I can see where they wouldn't pick up on it. Do you really think Max went out to plead his case to two different umpires because the kid said "hoorah". Let me perfectly clear. While I certainly don't agree with what the kid did, the focus of my post is why the umpire just stood there sheepishly like he didn't know what to do. There was no hesitation whatsoever last year when Dixie's player got tossed.

Conner should be playing minus their left fielder vs CovCath. The kid drops a loud F bomb in the seventh and doesn't get tossed. The home plate umpire had the "huh what happened? look on his face. Last year in a similar situation, Dixie's player gets tossed in a blowout game and had to sit the following regional semi-final game. What's the rule? Can kids just belt out the F-bomb with no penalty? The ump was 4 feet away.

Nice comeback by Dixie to tie the game at 6-6 after being down 6-1 early. Sexton hits a 3 run bomb in the bottom of the sixth to tie it up. Conner follows in the top of the seventh with a single and 3 walks...the winning run coming on a bases loaded walk with 2 outs.

An interesting scenario will come up if Dixie advances to Wed. 6/1 They have graduation at 5:30.

The admission is good all day. I think you can get your hand stamped and return for a later game(s) if you're not into a baseball marathon.

Seems like they usually start these games in the morning...like 10:00.

Kids and parents make college choices based on their own personal criteria and what works best for them. Many kids these days are infatuated with the D1 euphoria only to find out it's not what it's cracked up to be and end up transfering out to smaller schools. I'm sure Sexton will have the ability to both pitch and swing the bat over at TMC....sounds like a good choice.

Congrats to all of these guys on outstanding high school careers at Dixie along with the opportunity to continue playing at the next level. I'm sure the Saints will be very happy to have all 3 of them join their team. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Heard the same thing....two very talented players.

I'm not so sure this is a given SF99. St Henry improved towards the end of the year and with the weather, who knows when the championship game will be played...I'm assuming Sexton won't be pitching for the Colonels with the Regional starting Monday.
