Walter Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Final Downs with 3 to tie with 27 left, Evans misses 2 ft with 10 left after going perfect from line up to that point, then Downs hits baseline floater with 1.2 left to win... Heck of a game.
NEERFAN Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Boone starting to look like a major contender with wins over Holmes and DH recently.
Walter Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Where was the Dixie defense tonight? McQueary had 7 treys and 25 pts...didn't score his first points til 4 mins left in second quarter. Poor decisions really cost Dixie too. Up 7 with 3 mins left, they never slowed it down and tried to force Boone to foul. Boone should take over #2 in nky. No team with a better argument...wins over Holy Cross, Holmes, and now Dixie.

Didn't they just lose to Cooper recently??
Walter Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Didn't they just lose to Cooper recently?? Cooper also beat Holmes...really not that bad of a loss.
Clyde Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 As one of the more vocal members of the Coach McQ fan club let me once again point out that the guy can coach.

BINGO! Also Dixie up 5 with 2 mins to go and Boone in a 2-3 zone....Dixie still jacking up shots.
Voice of Reason Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 As one of the more vocal members of the Coach McQ fan club let me once again point out that the guy can coach. Let there be no doubt about that! The dude can coach. They run some of the best sets you will see anywhere and his team executes them to a T. No team I watch gets as many wide open layups running offensive sets than Boone - and that is year after year so you have to credit that to Coach McQueary. I have no idea how Boone beats Dixie if you look at the players on the two teams. But they did.
nees1212 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 BINGO! Also Dixie up 5 with 2 mins to go and Boone in a 2-3 zone....Dixie still jacking up shots. Another game they cannot close. I think that's 7 of the 9 losses where they either led or were tied going into the 4th.
Flotsam Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Dixie's first northern Kentucky loss. Voice of Reason raised the point in another thread that Boone County should not be overlooked come tournament time. He is spot on. The 9th Region tournament should be great. (At the risk of thred-jacking...with Dixie's loss tonight, Cov. Cath.'s 2004 squad remains the last team to run the table in the 9th.)
