  1. Good point about Mitch........I was responding to this quote..........
  2. Pangallo is St. Therese and still in grade school this year and will be more than just a pretty good player. Has the potential to be outstanding............... There is another Highchew as well on that school team. Couple nice players on the various "feeder school" teams for NCC................... As long as NCC can continue to get athletes from Brossart "feeder schools" in St. Joe's and maybe one or two from St. Mary's they will be fine. The issue would come in if they ever had to rely solely on their feeder schools (Holy Trinity, the two Ft. Thomas schools and St. Therese). Holy Trinity might have one player (crawford) in the eighth grade who can remotely play at all and the Ft. Thomas schools they lose kids to Highlands every year.................
  3. Really? First I would think the class 1A schools would be screaming about this as this is not conducive to travel or to coming up with a 10 game schedule. Secondly unless you are winning state championships currently I would think everybody would be competition.
  4. Yeah I can see where Highlands needs that kind of "help"
  5. Well first Cindy is a nice player..................but....................she is not a 15 to 20 point per game player so they really need to learn shot selection. This team struggled last year with "floor discipline". They could hang with teams at times but then the wildness would kick in and they woudl be on the wrong end of a 16-0 run. MIller is the best scoring option at this point but they really need to control tempo and keep the score in the 40's.......... You have a couple potential decent players in Fancher, Miller, Walls but there is not much else to go with them. None of the three can handle the ball under any type of pressure so that is really the biggest issue............
  6. Thanks for the info cbb...........Was not aware of that e-mail........Not exactly setting up a new coaching staff for success?!
  7. I am not sure they have "declared' no jv or that a person who has the authority to do so has done that. In fact that would be a huge mistake because the numbers for athletics in the school rest in grades 7-9 with many 9th graders with some skill level that need some JV time. Anyway any word on a coach?????????????????????
  8. Dennis did a nice job with the Bracken County program until the powers that be rid themselves of all their Northern Ky. folk:lol: Seriously though good choice..........
  9. 1. Hiring a coach right now is the thing that needs to be done. 2. Maybe have an open gym or two in the summer??????????????
  10. Well.......lets be realistic........his immediate impact is not going to be "discipline" in style of play, etc. Obviously TMC has head some success with the current staff and I do not see the head coach saying here "take over." He will be doing a lot of scouting, breaking down film and recruiting.
  11. Sexton pitched a great game.................Honestly the choice of pitchers turned out to be a good one. 1 earned run over 6 innings should equal a W................................But it did not...... Congrats to Coach Huff!!!!!
  12. I believe it was a 10 inning game not 9...........
  13. Great job Tigers and Coach Sanders..................................Unfortunately not one Bellevue School or Central Office administrator attended the championship game incuding the AD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This team deserves school support.......................A great group of seniors who have given their all for this program for 4 or more years as players!!!!!!! Great job guys.....................
  14. Great win for a great coach!!!!!!!!
  15. If there is such a thing as a trap game this is it...............................Foregone conclusion that the winner of Highlands/NCC is going to regional............................... having to use #1 pitcher on monday..................emotional rivalry victory over NCC. Bellevue has two strong veteran pitchers. Who knows how that will be handled............but if Bellevue plays solid defense and Highlands comes out a little flat it could be a very tight game.
  16. This is a diffeerent Coach Baioni The Beechwood coach is his dad and he still coaches at Beechwood...........
  17. I saw a game earlier this week. Who is number 9???? Played second base that game........
  18. Yes the All A is an option in the middle of the season. but not as a real state/regional qualifier at the end of the year..................I think what most A folks would like is to break all sports up much as football (although I thought going to 6 classes was too much.............)
  19. Well I still do not blame large schools or "schools that win more" for wanting to seed.....same as I would not blame small schools for not wanting to seed. Again it comes down to doing the job you are charged with and that should only be making sure you do what is best for those you represent............................ I do blame the KHSAA for not classifying all sports.................lets face it how in the world would a school the size of Silver Grove and St. Pat's compete on a yearly basis with 6A schools and yet that is what they are asked to do. And before yo u say "get better" the NCAA recognizes classes in all sports.I mean should you tell Thomas More to "get better" so they can compete with UK?????????
  20. Newport does tend to take the blame mainly because they are seen as the largest of those three schools voting not to seed. They are also viewed as the school out of those three that could compete more so than Dayton and Bellevue. In reality the coaches have no say in it either. This is an administrative decision coming from either an AD principal or even higher in at least one instance.
  21. History I gt what you are saying as well......but is that what we are saying in the sports where we classify? based on size of school?
  22. Ok lets clarify some things: This is a democracy and the KHSAA has chosen to allow its members to vote seed or draw.........Therefore we must live with the vote. Running up the score in the regular season games if they do not vote to seed? Well.....................that is one reason why they do not vote to seed so they do not have to play those schools IF they choose not to in the regular season. And actually Highlands and NCC took opposite tactic several years ago and offered money (spilt the regional gate receipts they received with Newport, Bellevue and Dayton) if they would vote to seed. Each school is supposed to do what is best for the teams in their school building not what is best for somebody else. Tha A tourney is not a state sanctioned tourney so that is nothing more than a regular season tourney.
  23. Good win for Highlands going into the last week before district play. Who do they have the rest of the week?
  24. Riverdog Chad persinger is an excellent softball coach but boys basketball? I have seen him as an assistant years ago for Dan Fisher at Bracken and that did not go well for him at all.
