I agree with everything you are saying except for the bolded. Have you seen Ayden play? In no way am I trying to bash Ayden as a player, a person or in any way shape or form. He is a good player, but not yet a great one. To place him in that position will be a mistake if it is done based on name alone. And, unless he improves significantly between now and next year, there will be better options to run the point at CCH next year. In fact, I do not believe he started the point a single game in his 7th or 8th grade years.

They were consistent - which is what I think is the goal. A couple of calls here and there were questionable, but all in all they did do a good job. This made me remember something - Great job to Mark the Shark Shult- I seem to recall him picking up two quick fouls. Was very concerned that he would foul out early. He played a lot of minutes, after that and if I recall correctly never even picked up his fourth file.

If you are including Track, Cov Cath has that one too!

Congrats to both teams for making it to the finals and playing a game that enjoyed so much to watch! I honestly can not remember another game that I stood up so much to watch. Especially thanks and congrats to the entire Cov Cath basketball family. You made this ex player's parent so proud wearing the Cov Cath Basketball sweatshirt I wore today. Oh yea, oh so special congrats to TOG. It was so nice seeing you on the podium with your team.

Esp the second one when the clay player wrapped both arms around Mark. One question if I was a Clay County fan I would have of the coach, is why in the last couple of minutes trailing by three, did he take Farmer out of the game? Did not appear to be winded or hurt to me, but he took him out for a bit which helped the Colonels IMO Regardless, great W for the Colonels and see ya tomorrow nite!

They call it like this in grade school, high school and college all the time. I too hate it, but it is the rule!

Looks like Pangallo's feet are both inside the arc when he jumps up, but come down outside the arc when he lands. This makes it seem like he is going towards the shooter. Also, I think based on him turning his body as he did makes it easier for the official to call defensive foul. See it all the time on block/charge where the defensive player turns his body sideways.

Every once in a while I need a story like this to remind me that everything is not wrong in youth sports as I so often think. Great job for all involved. The young man and his family will NEVER forget this I am sure.

The stats TOG reported are public knowledge in the sense he reports the same stats to other outlets. Coaches can get CCH stats without reading them on here. Shame really, but I do not blame him. BTW- Congrats to the colonels, and to Mr Shult! I assume 30 is his career high?

Looks like Latin has a young team with only four seniors this year. I am curious how Frommeyer played as according to the roster the young man is a Freshman. This would mean he is more than likely the same age as the area 7th graders, possibly 8th. Glad to see him score some points against the older guys from HC.

I am sure you are right! I will be there. And of that 1700, how many students? I yelled at my son who lives on campus for not going to these games as my understanding is that every game they choose a student for some half time shots who has a chance to win $5,000 tuition credits. I think they are guaranteed $1000. I have only been to 2 games, but each time there were less than 50 students there. Not bad odds.

The Pride and Class has not gone anywhere. It is the same as it always has been there. Not sure why you feel the way you do towards Ruthsatz. Maybe Coach R cut your sone from the team??

It is not for everyone and every parent and child who is interested potentially needs to examine their individual situation. There are many kids who are bored in grade school and welcome the challenge of the academics at Latin School. Are they better off being challenged at a younger age? I think yes (and no none of my four sons attended Latin School as their dad did) I am fine with that. I too would have been fine if they wanted to. They did not want to and I would not force them. I doubt many of their students are forced to attend. Yes it can create some awkwardness in college, but it also prepares you in many ways to get more out of college and your education. It also allows you to possibly enter the work force two years earlier than others you age. So, if the student is mature enough and can handle it, adjust to it - much more good can come of it then bad IMO

I agree - This was always may favorite tourney to attend. Great facilities, great organizers, great games, etc.

So happy to hear this! I checked the website and did not see him listed so I was not sure. Yes I had the pleasure of sitting next to Joe for quite a few games the last few years. I thought I knew a lot about the game, but boy, I learned so much from Joe. As you say the boys will learn and grow so much from having Joe on the bench. Great pick up who I truly hope stays around for a while.
