Only the JV roster is listed on the Cov Cath web site. Are the Varsity and Frosh, or as our friend used to say all the time, Seniors in Training, rosters not determined yet? Anyone know?

Thats him. I have only seen him play basketball and baseball. Good baseball player, but from the two future appears to me to be basketball.

I remember not too long ago one of the IHM guys played Freshman hoops at Cov Cath, but then only played football after that. Pretty good footballer - Troy Timmermann (sp?) I have been told that at least one of IHM's best, if not their best 8th grade player will be going to Cov Cath next year. The big tall center whose name escapes me. He and Thelen will give Cov Cath two pretty solid freshman big men next year.

Yes - it was one of the requirements stated on the foundation website

Does Dayton have the necessary matching funds?

I have had three boys graduate from Cov Cath, and can attest that many students benefit from the Financial Aid - Work Study programs. Based on personal experience it seemed to em that more non-athletes were awarded the assistance than athletes. (at least on the big three sport teams)

I do not understand why the attacks on the Bengals? Based on the website the Bengals have no one on the Board that generously gave the grant to Cov Cath. My guess is the Bengals are only included in this as they are the local NFL team. I suspect they have no influence whatsoever in who is given the grant by the The National Football League Foundation. I guess I could be wrong on this, but based on what I have seen, I do not think I am.

Congrats to Cov Cath !!! In looking thru the NFLfoundation website my guess would think that the Middle School Program has helped them get this grant. Copied from the site: Each year, applicants who demonstrate a willingness to provide for continuing maintenance and field safety, and who seek to involve youth football programs that are part of the USA Football Heads Up Football initiative, are given special consideration

Would Coach L change his style of play if he were given the job? I can hear him now yelling from the sideline at the Holmes players 'Patience' as he did so many times over the years while at Cov Cath. Even at his teams that were most equipped to run and play the faster style of ball, he would constantly slow them down with his chants of 'Patience' and 'Slow Down'.

So you are now considering BW program on the same level as Highlands and Trinity (albeit it smaller class)? My point is that Highlands, and for that matter yes Trinity, are on another level with their programs. Not just in the state but also nationally. If there was a Highlands or Trinity type program in the same class as BW - would they have the same number of titles? And as far as BW beating Cov Cath - yep it has happened in the past. Cov Cath's program has never been on the same level as Highlands or Trinity either.

Would they have these titles if they had to go through Highlands to get them?

Yes - however since Tackett tweeted out that this was Overdue and he was Thankful - I hope that indicates he will push for the KHSAA to follow it.

I like Joe - very good guy and extremely knowledgeable on the game - but he will always be Joe. Recent example - The Cov Cath Basketball team was honored at Reds game last week. Entire team, video and stat guys, and coaches on field before the game. Every one of them was wearing their team warm up - except Joe! He did look sharp in his suit though!

Thanks - Getting close to any of those records? I know the 4x100 and 4x200 were both set just a few years ago.

Kid is quick - wow - according to the Cov Cath page, prior to the beginning of this season the record for the 100 was shared by three guys: 100 Meter Dash 11.04 seconds Paul Glindmeyer 1976 Matt Suedkamp 1999 Chris Resing 1999 Does Jake run in the 4x100 or 4x200 as well?

Congrats to Mark and family! I am surprised to hear this actually, as last I had heard he was pretty sure to be going to Centre. Regardless so happy for the Schult family.
