Track officials are the worst officials out there. Not because they are bad but because they get so caught up in crap like jewelry, uniforms, etc. Thank goodness some sanity might be coming into it.

I have told my story on here before, but my son was dq'ed at a regional meet (in a race he qualified to run state in) because the stitching in his compression shorts were gray and his shorts were black and the coach's of another team in our region called it to the attention of the meet officials who dq'ed him. Thankfully the rule has since been changed, but that was a painful weekend.

I remember that story, and it isn't an isolated one. Like the color of stitching has any impact on performance. It would be difficult not to be bitter for a long time over something like that. Thanks for sharing an example so those who have no clue about track get an idea what we are talking about.

Track and cross-country officials were toilet-trained at gunpoint. Had to be.

Yes - however since Tackett tweeted out that this was Overdue and he was Thankful - I hope that indicates he will push for the KHSAA to follow it.

Sorry to get this sidetracked on my story, but just to add a little context. At the same time my son was sitting out the state track meet for his "stitiching issue", the KHSAA had ruled the kid, who transferred from Walton Verona, after being charged with sexually abusing another student, eligible to play baseball at NCC and that kid was leading his team to a regional champtionship and playing in the state tourney. We might have been a little bitter.
