I don't recall any missing players from the Camels in the Highlands game. Just Camels trying to get as many different players game time (which I totally disagree with). Ryle faced a Camels first team on both sides of the ball, something the Birds didn't see. The stupid undissaplend penalties I saw were the two blocking in the back by Highlands players on maybe two of the only plays that gained yards in the second half But until the rematch the Birds are better. I would like to see a Raider vs Bluebird game. CovCath is great with Migunnis without?? Did Beechwood play CCath with him 100%?

Just a thought. Ryle, Cooper, and now Conner with the Bandits all have youth programs that are more local to their schools that over the years develops a core of kids that have played together. The BCPWFL is very good but as far as I know most teams practice e in Burlington (sometimes a long trip to and from). A Rebel youth team could practice in Florence and possibly keep that core of players at Boone

Campbell County has a 6:00 game on their schedule at Ryle next Wednesday

Kamp did not play in this game and could have very well been the difference.

You might hold off on ordering the championship rings. The Camels did their share in making the Baby Birds look good. Seven turnovers, a ball snapped out of the end zone for a safety, plus a couple of other fumbles that the Camels recovered, and several bad snaps made it tough to get much of an offense going. In spite of all that I would not be surprised if the Camels had more total offense than the Birds. FWIW Camels won the second half 6 to zip. Not sure if the birds had more than a couple of first downs in the 2nd. Camels moved the ball down the field until they turned it over. I don't think Campbell County punted the whole game.

I had a long rant on this game, but in the end it comes down to this I think. Highlands has some great athletes also. Highlands has a program that produces fundamentally sound athletes by this age group. Highlands does their development during practice so that when it's game time they can play to win. Congratulations to all my Cake Eater buddies. We'll get you next time.

Any specific date isolates some of the kids, May, August, Jan, any one day of a year, so i guess that's why I think it should be the kids birthday. Anyway it sure has seemed to kick but for AAU this year.

Every date will have it's problems, but how about the day you turn 14 you can no longer play 13u sports. Even though it may be in the middle of a season everyone will know that the 14 yr olds won't be able to finish the season in 13u.

Nothing against AAU, but there seems to be a lot of better tournaments to play in this year where you don't have to break up your team, or having to play up

Other than the D1, D2, and D3 state tournaments at KBA I'm not seeing many/any other AAU competitions in Ky., and plenty of tournaments without the AAU age restrictions.

It depends on what age group you were looking at. Last year's 6th, 7th, & 8th grade teams,seemed to me were all different squads. This year's 13u I think is legit 13u. Also I think that the landscape for AAU this year will change considerably with the age restrictions.

It's a very long trip for the team and the followers for a regular season game.

Yes. Woodlawn's Coach's game plan to completly outplay Campbell's gaurds, and to control the paint with post players hit Campbell's coach by suprise, and by the time they realized it the game was over.

Wow! Did'nt know that Twenhofel beat Gray also. Twenhofel beat CC by about 10 at Twenhofel and lost to CC by 20+ at CC. If the east districts are at Twenhofel they could win it.

Typical NKMSAA. The Districts (my guess east and west) according to my school schedule are supposed to start a week from today at ???? and at ????. After that the second round ???? plays ???? at ???? at ????. Then maybe both those 2 teams might advance to the Regionals to maybe play the other top two teams from the other district at ????time ????place. Then the finals Saturday at ??oclock at ????place. The way I see the 8th lg sch in the west it should come down to the best 7-8 players on each of the top 4 teams with Gray and suprise Conner going to the regional. In the east also IMO it could come down to 4 teams, but not so much the top 7-8 players but how their coaches decide to play them along with the benches. Holmes beats CC with the 3ball to win the district.

For some of the younger 15u and lower age groups, there are leagues starting as early as Feb. 1. For the MS teams there is just 3 weeks +- left in the season. IMO it would be great if some of the more seriouse aau/select teams could get together to play at one establishment. It's kind of depressing driving 60 miles with a 14u team and finding you are playing a 12u team that wants "valuable expenience"

If you are refering to the games in Ohio this past weekend, yes he did play well. as did that whole team. I watched 3 of their games againt 8th grade teams and don't think i've seen a team with more heart and skill.

First, my appoligies to coach Lickert. He does an outstanding job with the players that he gets. My frustration lies in the fact that WE (including myself) don't get the players to the varsity level. Counting on this years roster there are 39 10th and 11th graders, plus maybe you get 25 freshmen to move up, so that gets us 65 plus or minus varsity players. I guess that's plenty if they all want to play.

So what % of your school's athletes choose to play football? In south Campbell County bishop brossart has no home field, will have to travel all over the state to play their district games but still has approximately 10% of the boys in their school playing. On the other hand Campbell County high has one of the nicest facilities in the state but only draws the same percentage (10%). Lickert wake up, you can't make football teams on your resume! You came from one of the programs best motivators ever to what??? Maybe coach, you could pay attention to what's go on in you're youth and middle school leagues to encourage players to play in high school! Winning programs in the state like Mayfield, highland, beechwood, desales, trinity, cal, bowling green,etc,etc are planning on 2015 NOW

Campbell County may be lucky to get 60 players out in 2015 for grades 10,11, and 12. It depends a lot on how many of this year's freshmen play next year. New facilities, 800+- boys in the school what could be the problem??
