Birds looked very good tonight. Jumped out to a 22-0 lead at half and never looked back. Camels must've had 2-3 fumbles forced by Birds and a few Int's. Tough night for the Camels.

I think this is a nice win. If I'm not mistaken this Camel class has some really nice athletes.

Birds have a ton of talent as well but yes there are some very good athletes for the Camels.

 

Birds took it right at em and made some great defensive plays. They are a force to be reckoned with. I believe the Camel TD tonight was the first one this season against the starters.

Remember what I said about what would happen when Highlands combined all 3(Red-White-Blue) Middle School teams into 1. The Highlands Frosh team is very good. The best one I have seen in about 5 or so years.

how did Cooper Schwabach do? He is the main RB correct?

CC has weapons but didn't show them very much by constantly shooting themselves in the foot. Ball security continues to plague the offense. They are unbalanced by putting the majority of their athletes on the offensive side of the ball. When they struggle offensively, the defense can't compensate. Line play needs work but the ability is there. This is the freshman football so if this group can remain mostly intact, they'll give Lickert some options that he sorely needs.

Cooper played well again last night. There are 3 running backs that share the load, Cooper, Nick Bowman and Alex Starkey.

I had a long rant on this game, but in the end it comes down to this I think. Highlands has some great athletes also. Highlands has a program that produces fundamentally sound athletes by this age group. Highlands does their development during practice so that when it's game time they can play to win.

Probably in the neighborhood of 40 to 50 I would guess. There is NO Highlands Middle School team like in basketball. The FTJFL will field as many as 3 teams that play each other and other teams located in the immediate area. The idea is to have as many kids playing as possible.

That's a nice squad. Ryle's squad looked to be about that size when Boone played them this week.

 

That allows you to platoon your players.
