Considering they already have 2 wins over some talented competition, you should rethink your probability. This boone team has more rounded talent this year that wants to win and they are definitely playing better than last. I'm guessing that you have not seen them play and you're making a blind judgement, but that's your assumption that you're allowed. We'll just have to wait and see how correct you are.

Boone started some drives inside their own 30 from the kick off and quite a few HC punts. The offensive line was fairly dominant and they did what Boone does best, run right, run left, and chew up the clock. The turnovers did allow for good field position at times, but the offense still was able to move the ball up and down the field. This game was won off of the defensive effort. Okay.......... bluegrass preps = "Kentucky Bluegrass" area athletes................swam preps = "Florida Swamp" area athletes. Does that clear it up for you? Anyway, back on topic! Congrats to Brown on his commitment and hopefully when Florida comes up to visit the Redhawks, he and the other local KY players can assist in providing some "high level/intense competition for a team from such an elite area.

Considering this is "Bluegrass preps" not "swamp preps" I like to concentrate on locals within the tri states.

So I guess the Ky recruits at Notre Dame this year couldn't play for the U? Furthermore, Joker Phillips has made it a UK mission to recruit heavily in the state of Kentucky. I guess he just wants to build a low level team according to your interpretation. No this isn't the 80's and with today's technology any good scouting college that puts in the work, can find high level talent these days that exist even in little ole Ky. It takes a different kind of player to play division I football period, not just for the U. The U just seem to run a scheme that requires speed. But along with that speed, you need linemen, and players such as long snappers punters and place kickers. Yep, I'm sure those type of high level players can only be found in Florida........The reputation of the U will always be what it has been, regardless of who's coaching.

It's gotta be Geisler, Geisler, Geisler all the way. If they can't/don't get the ball in to him, they struggle to win.

Are you implying that these kids aren't good enough! Because, personally I think a majority of the kids "instate" have too much class to play for the U. Kentucky has a ton of kids with great individual talent that are also considered high level players to me. From what I hear Brown scored too high on the ACT for the U.

Just ran across this article about an incident involving some Notre Dame football players. Brian Kelly's response of “If there is any team-related discipline to be issued, it would be handled internally,” is similar to how he handled things at UC according to a valualble resource. IMO, after losing a prospective teammate to an alcohol drinking related incident, I would hope the young boys would think differently. Strike One on the "New Notre Dame"!

Are you speaking from pure speculation or from someone who was at the 7 on 7? Boone has been throwing three different qb's this week and I was told earlier they did fairly well in the 7 on 7 against BW. Just curious about where you got your information.

I myself am a Rebels fan and I have to say you re dead wrong about Bradley! The kid is a great running back and for you to not recognize that makes me wonder if you know football talent. Put Bradley behind Boone's oline and he performs just as well as Oppenheimer. The two are much alike, not blazing speed, but good hard runners that can get you good yardage. Maybe you should watch some film on what Bradley did against district teams before you criticize him!

I also thought that was a poor shot selection. They had time to spread the floor and drive one in for two to win. Disappointing loss for them, great game to watch.

You need to ask yourself that question about SK.

You say "send their children to the up and coming school" like they have an option. What a lot of people tend to forget is that these schools will be only as good as the talent WITHIN their schools district lines. It doesn't matter if you have field turf for football or solid gold rims for basketball. You'll only be as good as your talent pool. Right now it appears that Ryle has the upper hand on talent numbers for football, but how long will that last? IMO Ryle has made some community affecting decisions recently that is driving some hate towards the program.

Question on #3. When you say raising money to upgrade facilities, would you consider a very large donation by one individual a success in fund raising efforts? I was once told that one person donated pretty close to 90% of the funds for the new field turf. Now that could just be someone blowing smoke, but if every Boone County high school had someone affiliated with their program that generous with their money, they would all be able to upgrade to that status. On a football note: Ryle is doing great things and has some very good talent this year. I have seen Elliot, Hemple, and a few other Raiders several times this year at various college camps. I can't say the same for other local area programs. They are working to get better and it should pay off with a very good season.

Brown plays the tight end position for Boone and considering their passing game is very minimal, he tends to fly under the radar even at 6'3' and 265 lbs, but you have to remember the Boone running backs get their yards because of a good O-Line and good blocking tight ends. Trevan has quite a few Div I schools interested in him and U of Miami Ohio is the first to offer, more could come later, but this offer is an excellent educational/athletic opportunity.

Elliot (Ryle) and Brown (Boone) were both very impressive in 1 on 1's. Both ran great routes and beat their defenders on each attempt. Brown move over to the O-Line and showed his strength and quick footwork fairl well also. The only Dixie receiver I saw struggled in 1 on 1's because the db's were being a bit physical and knocking him off his routes. His height will be a benefit for him as long as he finishes the routes and holds on to the catch. Should be a nice target for Pike. Elliot actually looked better in his receiving out of the backfield than in his rb running drills. He will be a great option for Hemple to dump screens and flat routes to because one on one I think he'll beat most db's.

Good point, I think Zeke will be fine considering he has another two years of high school to play and mature. When it's all said and done Zeke will get whatever offer he has earned and not what some thinks he deserve.
