The first half had a decent crowd still. The second half was mostly just Cooper and St Henry fans, as expected. I know Cooper sold out of their 250 tickets quickly at school so a lot of folks had to buy at NKU.

I would take AJ Collins on any team. He may not be the most "skilled" but his competitive desire to win puts him above most and he is clutch in late game situations. IMO, McNeil is the player that needs to become a little less selfish and take the game over more. He can beat his man and has a way of getting off quality shots in the lane. I would take Shelton over a couple of the Cov Cath bigs. Just my opinion!!

You have to be kidding on the first bolded statement. The second, most all of Cooper's games are low scoring, including the 6 point loss at Holmes earlier so I do expect another low scoring game. The rest I agree with you. Holmes moves the ball well and ran the clock with the lead. If Conner had done that, Cooper would already have been home. If Cooper goes 0'fer for three and shoots 50% from the Free Throw line again, then I agree Holmes wins by double digits. Luckily every game is different!!

Another one of those Cooper clunkers that they have every so often. They normally don't have two in a row though. But, their defense is normally always there and they advance. They make no three's and miss probably 15 FT's (Morgan missed at least 8-10; Holland missed both technical FT's; McNeil missed 2-3) and they still win to advance so all is good. St Henry played hard and congrats to them on their season. Cooper leading scorer was AJ and he had 2 points going to the 4th as he couldn't buy a bucket either. However, as usual, he is clutch down the stretch from the line as I believe he made atleast 6 in a row at one point to maintain 5-7 point lead. The main goal was accomplished, WIN!!!!

I don't think many are surprised by this stat. Very few schools have had good student support this year from what I have seen.

I think Cooper wins by 15 but if they come out like they did the first meeting against St. Henry, they may go home for good. That was one of those uninspired games that Cooper plays every now and then. However, I think they come out focused in this one and get it done.

I said a month ago I thought either NCC or Cooper would win the region as they have multiple scorers inside and out and grind it on defense that enables them to win "ugly" at times. Either way, it should be a battle coming out of the lower bracket.

I think the last couple were Freshman who have a chance at JV.

Just don't criticize HHS football or anything at CCH and you will be fine.

If what I think I'm reading is correct, WTF32's son is a 7th grader. If so, Hellbird, unless your son stuck around for the afternoon session to help catch, I doubt he caught him. I think there were only a couple of Freshman on the Varsity/JV scrimmage who have promise of making the JV team. I could be wrong, but with the numbers Cooper has this year I doubt they keep any 7th graders unless they are just a stud who would start everyday as a Frosh and even then I doubt I would go below an 8th grader. A SWOL National league team see's better competition than NKY Freshman teams overall.

I pick Cooper to go through the Catholic's. Wins over St. Henry, NCC and then Cov Cath. :clap:

TOG, just because they didn't actually make the draw doesn't mean they didn't get a little bit lucky with Cooper, NCC and Holmes on the other side. If I win the lottery, am I lucky, when I didn't actually pick the numbers? Good for Cov Cath, now every team has to earn their way to win it all anyway.

Congrats to the Jag's on a hard fought win. Congrats to big Drew Shelton on tourney MVP!!! Also to Spencer Holland and Louis Maniacci for all tourney. I predict a Cooper/Holmes first round match-up. Just like last year when Dixie was upset in their district final and they were the #1 team and Cooper drew them as well. Hope the result is the same if this happens.

Cooper side was packed, Conner side maybe half at best.

AJ has made clutch shots and FT's for the last 5 years that I've watched him play, so when you say "luck", I say he's "clutch". He didn't double pump in the air, he shot faked and leaned to the right and shot (at least it looked that way from my angle). Congrats to Barker for stepping up and making clutch FT's. If Cooper would have opened the game in a full court, all out press, I think this game would have went the way of the other two. They came out tight and a little nervous as it looked like they were playing "not to lose" versus attacking and imposing their superior will. Just my opinion. This is the 3rd year in a row you bring up football this early. For once, I may agree Conner will have the better team, let's see how it plays out.

I think they come out Friday loose as they know they are moving on.

What a game. Cooper seemed to play "not to lose" for the first 3 quarters and seemed very tight. Conner, to their credit, came out lose and played hard. Cooper had no business winning this game. Conner was up around 13-14 in the 4th. For the life of me, I can't figure out a coach who has that type of lead in the 4th would not take one or two of his possesion's and not even take a shot, but continue to run clock and move the ball until they are either fouled or have a turnover. Instead, Barker shoots an air ball three, and cooper comes down and hits a quick bucket. To Barker's credit, he nailed what seemed to be 11 or 12 FT's in a row. Holland saved Cooper tonight. Huge shot by Collins and some clutch FT's of his own. McNeil seemed tight but did make a huge three late to give Cooper the lead. Survive and advance!!

While Cooper is the clear favorite, it's tough to beat your rival three times in the same season. Cooper had 20 point leads in both contests before ending up with 11 point wins. I will still go with the Jag's and their depth. I think Cooper wins 65-50.

Congrats to all the young men, especially to Collins and McNeil for Cooper. Way to represent!!

How about Cooper's SS, Willett? I understand she is going to Transy but to be honest, I have never seen her play.

For the first time in Cooper's five year history, I believe the Varsity will consist of only Senior's and Junior's. They have seven SR's and about 16-19 JR's for about 16-18 spots. I hear Hathorn, who is a Soph, is pretty good so he would probably be the only one if they did bring him up. I think this year should be Cooper's best to date.

I watched second half on NKYSPORTS.com... There were 39 fouls in the 2nd half and it sounded like they had about that many in the first half. Hard to watch and I agree with the announcers that most looked ticky-tack. McNeil had 25 and was Player of the Game. Congrats to the Jag's and now get focused on Districts!!

Based on those two photo's it was an easy call and glad they called it as I hate to see them swallow their whistle based on the time of the game. If it's a foul, it's a foul. Big stones by the young man to sink both! Congrats to him.

Congrats to all the Jag Senior's. McNeil's two game shooting slump seems to be over as well as he stroked a couple three's. The kid never seems to force anything.
