33rd District

Featured Replies

How does the 33rd breakdown this year? What player/players should we look to have a break out season? List teams in order of their finish for 2013.

Who's in the 33rd?

Like Ryle, Conner, Cooper and Boone,,,,Ryle District winner. They were strong last year their JV team won the region. I feel they are the team to beat. Conner will be solid as well.

What will Ryle's lineup look like this year? I think they had a big junior class last year so I assume they'll be senior heavy.

Cooper only loses two starters and has all of their pitching back and have AJ Collins and Jared Blank starting their 5th and final year of Varsity. The 33rd will be a toss up.

JMO "The Hardaway", but if you think just because a team won at the JV Level and is going to make them a strong Varsity team, I will go on record and say there is NO comparison. This is literally BLACK & WHITE. I will tell you now that the pitching, speed ect. of the game isn't even close. Not to say there aren't some team that might only be at that level, but overall, NO WAY.

Breakout Player's

- Hitting -

Ryle - Bauman

Conner - Hart, Maines and Fogle

Boone - Ganns, Martin and the kid from the Carolina's

Cooper - Collins, Dunn and Blank

- Pitching -

Ryle - Hoard

Conner - Maines and Ross (Can they keep cool heads?)

Boone - Ganns and Farer? I think that's how you spell the last name

Cooper - Dunn, Collins and Smith

I would have to agree with hja1224, on paper, it's going to be a toss-up. It's really going to depend on who can create the better supporting cast and/or surpass the names listed above.

My thoughts would be this is tight:

1. Conner

1. Cooper

2. Ryle

3. Boone

I would give Conner the slight edge going into the season. They have the best 1-4 lineup Cameron Fogle, Jared Williams, Blake Maines, & Brady Padgett. Maines should be the best pitcher in the district as well.

Conner needs 2 or 3 other kids to step up and hit and they need one pitcher to step up and be a strong #2 to complement Maines.

Ryle didn't have a strong hitting team last season so that's why I ask what their lineup will look like. Baumann and Tyler Mason are good returning hitters. Who else? Ryle will have the most pitching depth in the district with Justin Hoard, Eric Clarkson, Mitch See, Josh Bellew, and probably another kid or two I can't think of.

Cooper has Hunter Dunn returning as #1 pitcher and he needs to get consistency to challenge Maines for #1 in the district. They have a lefty pitcher that doesn't throw hard but mixes it up well and keeps hitters off balance. I can't remember his name. AJ Collins is a really good pitcher too.

What about hitting for Cooper? AJ is the only major threat I can think of that's returning. I suspect Cooper will have to win with pitching and not out-scoring opponents.

Trey Ganns will be the #1 for Boone and he's a really good hitter too. They lost Teegarden who was the guts of that team. I believe they lost Stanley, Schwartz, and Church to graduation?l? Who will step up?

Trey is the one go to guy they will have but it seems Boone lost a lot of quality depth.

I will give an edge to Ryle. The majority of their senior class has been playing together, school, summer and fall ball for quite some time.

I'm not sure that much matters!

I think either Conner or Ryle will win the district during the regular season just because of pitching. But, making it to the region may be a different story. Each team has pretty good Aces to throw for the first game of the district playoffs.

I did forget a very good hitter for Ryle and that would be the Forbes kid. I also forgot about Bellew, but haven't seen him in a few years. I would think Ryle would groom him to be a tough pitcher for them. Haven't seen the See kid pitch but have seen the Clarkson kid and really wasn't impressed. Seemed to have major control problems and I don't mean just a little bit out of the zone. He was killing the Bull one of the times I had seen him pitch. I will give you 3 out of 4 and that's because I haven't seen the See kid.

Not going to dispute they can play, but that is not the way to guage a team. Where did they play and who in the summer? Fall ball really is a joke, and you could have a decent team and win quite a bit.

I think Conner is going to be the top team in the 33rd this year. They have the best 1-4 in the district (probably the region also). With Maines on the mound, they can beat anyone and I see Ross and Smiley coming up big this year. IMO this is Arlo's best shot to get that regional championship. But can they keep calm heads?

Cooper is my other team to go to regionals from the 33rd. They have a ton of talent that has been on the varsity squad for 3 and 4 years. Dunn is a very good pitcher along with Collins and they have a good defense to back them up. But does Cooper have the hitting to stay with a Ryle or a Conner?
