  1. Heard it came down between Murphy and Community Christians boys coach Ryan Smith. They went with Murphy because of the experiernce working in girls basketball. Straight from horses mouth.
  2. The league they are in the fees aren't nearly as pricy. They don't have a big following the only thing I can see is visiting schools traveling and helping with money. Kudos to them for branching out. Hope it works out for them. Saw them play my brothers team in basketball. It wasn't pretty although I thought they had a couple of nice girl players.
  3. I think if DCA had a striving program in there league it would be a better start for them. They however are making this move to try to keep student athletes there. No gurantee this will be successful. Its risky thats for sure.
  4. They havent won many games over the last few years.
  5. Many Small schools feel by joining KHSAA it will keep their athletes happy and they wont jump ship to the public schools. This is why DCA is making this move. It has nothing to do with Competition as they have struggled to be competitive in just about every sport in the KCAA. They had recent success in girls basketball but lost a lot of girls to the public school system. Good Luck to them
  6. Was told yesterday Scott has started contacting some candidates. Heard two names today. Two that have not been mentioned in this thread. Local guys. Have fun trying to figure it out :thumb:
  7. Community Christian Independence guard Caleb Wilson Signs with Cincinnati Christian. Finished his senior year averaging 22.4PPG and 7REB in the KCAA. Had a 48 point performance this year where he connected on 10-13 three point field goals in a game. Nice player.
  8. Community Guy is Smith not Pope.
  9. They struggle to manufacture runs. They dont hit the ball nearly as well as they have the past couple of years.
  10. Guy from Community Christian also has name in mix per former player of his.
  11. Losing Zach Mann is pretty big for Scott because it does effect their pitching depth. They lose Zero pitching from last year. Andrew Trame and Jake Ohmer will be 1 and 2 in the rotation and these guys know how to pitch. They dont overwhelm you with dirty stuff but the hit spots and change speeds so well. CJ Seay has pitched in huge games for them he will be the 3 pitcher. Outside of these 3 they will be searching hard for another arm. They have some good young throwers that im sure they staff will get ready fright away to contribute. This will be a contact hitting team and should play small ball to be successful. Jeff Trame preaches small ball everyday in practice. He preaches hitting behind runners everyday in practice. This team still has the parts to 3 peat that region. Jake Ohmer is Very Very Good.
  12. Was privileged to take in a high school basketball game last night at Community Christian. Up and Down paced game. Each team had a couple of really nice Guards. Community Well conditioned.
  13. Agreed would love to hear some more names. Any body in the Turkey foot, Twenhoffel ,Woodland outlets care to enlighten everyone. I love talking reading this stuff.
  14. Who are some of the Top Middle School players in the NKY area and what Grades are they in? Like to hear about some of the future 9th and 10th kids.
  15. Would love to see some of the smaller private schools Join some of the other private school organizations.
  16. 1. Justin Dolleman 2. Mike Brock 3. Ross Neltner 4. Derek Smith 5. Ronnie Dawn
  17. Start making highlight tapes and get them on the AAU Circuit. They need to play for a well established AAU program or play with a program that plays in bigger tournaments for recognition. Highlight tapes are ok to send out but if you have actual full game film if interested thats what coaches would like to see. The quality of the AAU program and tournaments really are whats important.
  18. Surprised by this. Theres a small Christian school down at the other end of Taylor Mill that has a coach that has developed a very nice program. Surprised they didnt reach out to him.
  19. It is annoying during the season I'm sure to travel but "Covington Scott" and Simon Kenton (State Finals last year) are in different regions than Highlands and other Northern KY schools just a few miles away, but it gives Northern KY more opportunities to rep teams in State and I love it. Go Birds! Go Eagles!
  20. Even though they've gave up quite a bit of runs in they tourney,West Jessemine can flat out. 12th Region MVP Mark Leonard pitched a CG last night and hitting was and the offense was led by Jackson, Merida and Peters.
  21. This would be the 5th day of rest for South Warrens Ace Cam Shryock. I don't see him starting. He threw a complete game shutout (no hitter?). So I believe not only do they save him for Semi's or come in relief if they need him, plus it'd give him another day of rest. Scott gained a huge advantage with Trame getting the complete game in the First Rd. Mann & Ohmer are both solid options to start
  22. Jake is a very good Shorstop as well i really believe he may have a bright baseball future however his heart is in basketball.
  23. If you have a smaller quicker team switching screens is the best way to defend even on ball screens. If you have a bigger post player hedging and recovering is the best way to defend it with help side D. The problem with trapping is if you let them out of the trap your defense goes in scramble mode. I am not a fan of going over top of the screen with a sagging defender. A good guard is going to blow by that sagging defender causing help to come and they will hit open shooters. In the NBA im starting to see guys go over top of screens but at that level they are athletic enough as bigs to stay in front and the guards are quick enough to recover. I say hedge if a bigger team and switch with a smaller faster group.
