Anybody know what's going on? We've known about Brad Carr's style of coaching which at first glance looks like why the administration would get rid of him. But why now?

It's not really my problem but other people's. In your face, aggressive, verbal, etc.

Carr is a great coach one of the best.

Sounds like his style is one that players would respect and run through the wall for...generally people/ parents do not have issues with this style if they are realistic about their child's abilities on the court. Kinda odd for the ladies running the district to get rid of him now after all the time he has put into that program...if he is truly out!

If true, I'd guess his phone will be ringing off the hook!

Carr is an intense coach, and personally I think his style works great for that team. Scott was at its best when they were playing up tempo. And in the 37th district with Brossart and Campbell, if you're not matching their intensity, you're going to struggle.

 

I know Carr had his arguments with administration and some parents, but that happens in every relationship

Might Mr. Carr be looking to take over the Holmes program?

I'm pretty sure Carr is still the coach at Scott.

Lots of bad publicity at Scott right now.

I've heard the rumors as well.

I'd hate to hear this is true. Brad's done a lot of good for Scott beyond the basketball court. I've heard rumors about Brad leaving or looking at other jobs for years. And I've heard Brad himself say he was looking forward to spending time with his kids...I know his daughter is in high school and his son will be in high school soon, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was walking away on his own. But I was also pretty sure he would at least see Jake Ohmer through his senior year (which is next year).

 

But I've heard nothing about him being gone.

 

And for those that don't like Brad's style, he's not nearly as hard as his reputation. And while he may have earned the reputation his first couple years, and while he's still very intense, he is not a maniac like some imply. Brad teaches discipline, accountability and effort. You miss on any of those three things, he's going to get on you. Kind of like what happens in real life.

Any athletic program in KCSD that is successful, is so in spite of that crew. Go worry about your academies and ACT scores ladies, and leave athletic administration to professionals!

Wouldn't surprise me in this day and age of administrators made this move because of parents. Seems like that's who runs athletics now.
