rjs4470
Has Scott won a game? 4-13. They've played a tough schedule and were without their best player and pitcher for a good chunk of the year. They've been in most games, but are just struggling to hit the ball consistently.

Playing a normal NKy schedule, they have only one victory over a team with a winning record and that is over a down St. Henry with a 9-7 record. After starting the season 2-0, they are 2-13 with their only victories being Bellevue and Brossart. Even though they are in the weak 10th Region, they were pre-season top three and their nosedive season to date raises a lot of eyebrows. Is there spillover from other programs? Is there optimism heading into postseason? Hard to believe injury to one key player can result in so many losses for so much reputed baseball talent. They did have to replace 5 starters from last year. They've had to start freshmen in key positions at times. Zach Mann, a top pitcher and the lone power bat, moved out of district before the start of school. They've only got a handful of seniors on the team, only a couple of which who have any varsity experience. One of their top two players has missed a big chunk of the season. So I wouldn't say it's a major shock that they've struggled, but yes it's a little surprising they've only won 4 games to this point. It's been a tough year, and while they e gotten blown out of a couple of times they've been in most games (although 3 of the last 4 losses have been lopsided) they lost to Greenup 4-2, and played Ryle tough in the first matchup. They are really struggling to hit and replacing the senior leadership from last year has proven to be very tough. And even the last two years, they've started somewhat slow (albeit not as slow as this year) suffering through long losing streaks early in the season. One could even say they've overachieved the last two years considering their talent level (only two players from those teams are playing at the college level, both from the 2014 season). There's still a lot of season left. If they can solve their problems at the plate, they could make a run. But I would say they do need to find a way to win some games quickly or it will be tough to turn the season around.

TheHardaway
They struggle to manufacture runs. They dont hit the ball nearly as well as they have the past couple of years.
