Wow. Didn't expect Ryle to go out as easy as their football team does every year.

Ryle was certainly a mix bag this year this year. A season that started promising hit the skids, righted the ship to an extent near the end and then bottomed out.

Man, when Mullins decides to give up, he GIVES UP. Benching the seniors their last game and playing JV!? I hope the principal or super intendant knows about this issue... Congratulations Cath.

Such a coaching conundrum: this Ryle team beats the "most under-rated coach in the 9th" in the district semis, and after laying an egg in the Region, their coach is about to be drawn & quartered. Things that make you go hmm....

Even as an outsider, I thought that was odd. I saw first-hand the gripe Ryle parents/fans have with the coach.

At one point for a long stretch of the third quarter the 5 on the floor for Ryle had 0 total points in the game.

At times tonight Ryle had 5 guys on the floor all under 5"0"............well hell it looked like that. I stopped counting at 8, the number of lay-ups/"gimmies" that Rlye missed and I stopped counting sometime in the "dreadful" 3rd quarter and left at the end of the frame. But will say, Coach Mullins kids play HARD.

I very rarely advocate change for coaches. As I said last year, though, I think it would be good for both the program AND Alan if he took a step away to recharge and reevaluate.

 

Sometimes, though not entirely your fault, it just makes sense for you to move.
