Me too. If you base it on one game, nobody would get the award -- unless you have an undefeated team.

The 10th is over before it starts. There really is no reason to play the regional. No one can touch the Cards this year at their high level of play. Best of luck to GRC against the 3rd region in less than 4 weeks.

I, too, agree Humphrey is on a short list for coach of the year, but I think it has already been established Cats Pause was one man's incorrect opinion. Anybody who knew anything about the 10th knew that was not the case. Did anything think they would go 25-5, I sincerely doubt -- even Humphrey himself. So, based on that, yes he is as deserving as anyone. But, let's not keep pretending that one person who obviously never came to a JV game or saw anything else is our compass of how the region was going to end up.

From what I understand there will be no gym at the new school. Only an auxillary gym for PE classes. All middle and high school games to be played at the current location.

Anyone that was paying attention could see that GRC would be a lot better than advertised. My guess is that they would win 20. Very solid nucleus returning from last year. They won't be touched in the region. It is their's to lose IMO.

Bishop Brossart's only hope in the regionals is if GRC, Mason, and Montgomery all get upset and they can get past Campbell. They are big and have some nice young kids but are way too slow to guard those teams. Louisville Collegiate had their way with them in the All A and they are average at best. Lack of speed and a weak schedule will be their undoing.

Totally agree and I will give an example. Mike Smith is a nice player no doubt, but there are more than 11 underclassmen better than Mike (or equally as good). Not a coincidence, he has gone to Bolus camps for years.

Having officials moving out is the only way to do it. This eliminates any bias that some officials may have for or against a coach or school. The BBA is far and away the best association so those schools who have them on a regular basis reap the benefits night in and night out.

Stenzel always takes lots of shots. I've asked several times what are his season stats but they must be under lock and Key. He has had a POY type year but I'd be interested in what his shooting percentages are.

Ok let me restate then. A lot of coaches are out every night they possible can or are on the phones daily tracking down tapes - anything to give their team an advantage. And IMO from Dec 1 to mid March that is very much part of their job description. Most staffs have at least 3 (a lot more than 3) coaches who can help distribute some of the scouting.

Don't be naive. Yes, they are putting an emphasis for Campbell County, but all coaches have an eye toward opponent(s) come tournament time. They aren't telling their kids that, but I bet days like Wednesday (one day after a game and another day to prepare for Friday's opponents) are about working on things they plan to use against somebody in district. I would be shocked if Pendleton didn't have eyeballs in the gym everytime Harrison plays from here on out and vice versa. If not, then IMO the coaches aren't doing their job.

I think people are coming to realize what they truly lost in Walsh and #11 (sorry, don't know his name). Those 2 kids could score and IMO Pendleton struggles scoring the ball as their replacements this year are not scorers. Antrobus must have been left open last night, because I haven't been able to see him create his own shot. I can pretty much guarantee Reitz will not allow a bunch of wide open looks from him in the district. Having said all that, I think the Harrison County game is a toss up, but somebody other than Monroe is going to have a big night.

Derek Willis is the best player in the class anyway, but his commitment to Kentucky will just secure the award.

Seems like it would be between Fatkin, Stenzel and Ford. I would think Stenzel wins it. All region choices: Prewitt, Monroe, McGovney, Stenzel and Fatkin.
