Now that is what I call factual information. I've confirmed three interviews, my guess is that it comes down to what positions are available in the school rather than the best fit coach for the job.

I believe Johnson now has a place. At least that's what I was told. -

Might mean Bordas as I was hearing Wise, Bordas and Stapleton and last 2 posts eliminated 2 of those. Of course I'm not convinced Reitz won't surface. He was with Strong at Campbell. -

Getting Chris Gillespie has to have been his sales pitch during the interview to hide the fact his awful coaching record. But, more than the coaching record, Bourbon County was a program with ZERO progress, if not a digression, during his time there. No dog in this fight, but I can't imagine out of 10 candidates they can't do better. -

And, even if the thought is Tony wants a better job (of course, doesn't just about every coach at the end of the day -- meaning if UK would hire you wouldn't you take the job), I would think the experience at Montgomery County might have changed that thought. I am sure Pendleton has a lot to think about with 10 candidates supposedly interviewing for the job. Sure they will get the person they feel is best for the program. Don't know the other 9 candidates, but the names I heard were really being looked at after the interviews, the record of Tony fars outweighs the other 2 reported finalists. But, there are a lot more to think about than just a record. Good luck Anthony Strong and Pendleton County. You obvioiusly have a tough decision to make. Not sure what they have besides Mason Monroe for year, but that is a good start for whomever they choose! -

Kentucky junior All-Star team announced
Rainman11 replied to Rainman11's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
You are not kidding. But there are a lot of athletes as good as him who are 4 to 5 inches taller with a better basketball skill set - especially for mid to high D1. Maybe he would get a low D1 look but I doubt that. But in high school he makes a difference. -

I think 5 of the 6 are D1. Quan Taylor is a heck of a high school player, but a little undersized IMO at his position to play D1 in college. -

Heavens no. The previous post said there are 3 in the Top 50 NATIONALLY. I was pointing out that there is actually only one rated top 50 nationally. A large portion of this roster and even some that didn't make have D1 potential. The class is loaded with talent. -

2013 is a good class in KY but Willis is only one ranked Top 50 with Hicks only other one even being considered for that status. The others are real nice players, but let's not overrate them on a national level. Some more of the top 6 jump off the charts this summer but they aren't there yet. -

Rainman11 replied to SportsGuy41017's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I agree, they looked good in Indianapolis a couple of weeks ago. But, from what I understand, Brian Stone from Collins was the big kid playing for them. I believe he is a senior and AAU does not allow unsigned seniors to play like the rest of the travel team circuit does. If that is the case, they will hurt them, although the 2 kids from BE looked very good, particularly Troutman. -
Happy Osborne is New Head Coach at Montgomery County
Rainman11 replied to Wireman's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I assume same thing Wise did, which was something along the lines working with student not coming to school (official title, no clue). As far as Happy's wife, no idea other than working for the superintendent. I know she was a teacher for years in the Scott County school system and was very good at what she did in that capacity. -

The Superintendent recently said on a local radio show that they should have went to state last year and needed a coach to lead them there. So, does that if Osborne fails in his first year he will be fired as well? -

I was waiting for somebody to start this thread. It has been known for a couple of weeks he was going to be the new coach. Happy is definitely a heck of a coach at the college level. Basketball is basketball, so I expect him to see a lot of success at Montgomery County. But, he will be dealing with issues you don't see at the college level with Montgomery County. I know a parent group led an attack of the previous coach because little Johnny (who was not good enough anyway) didn't get as much exposure as Mom and Dad wanted. And, Happy is more matter of fact that Tony Wise, so the parents and players better be ready. -

Couch and the seemingly always mentioned Champ Ligon. -
Louisville Magic 16s and 17s are in the Adidas Vegas event. No KY teams in the Nike event, although Jack Whitman of LexCath, Justin Johnson of Sheldon Clark and Miles Rice of Trinity are on the Tennessee Travelers that are in the Nike field.

With some solid returners @ Dunbar any chance that Scott Hundley would take it? Didn't he go to school @ Dunbar? I would think that Woodford will be upping his $ a bit after this season!
