Accurate on Florida kid (Jordan Tribble). He's eligible. Neils Bunschoten from the Netherlands not eligible, but I am sure the plan is to appeal. Very bouncy 6-9 wing who will obviously help the cause if ruled eligible. This isn't coming from anybody on the inside, but I hear it would be a surprise if he is ruled eligible.

True, but he is from New York. He moved there in 4th or 5th grade and was only here for a few years. He played AAU in the summer in KY (I heard that was a big reason he moved here in the first place), but played back with the NY Gauchos the last few summers he was in KY.

He did not go to Sayre in high school, only middle school. If all the kids that went to Sayre in middle school stayed there they would be a favorite in the 11th - Dakari Johnson, Jordan Green, Christen Cunningham and Mike Smith.

Portwood didn't play last year and has been in and out of open gym this fall, so I am not sure if he will be there tomorrow when practice starts. McFarland is a starter at Tates Creek.

The bigger question is should they have 3 of the Top 10? Based on talent and potential, then the answer is yes. If you are looking at top players that will make the biggest impact on the region they have something to prove.

Scott County has had more kids leave to Woodford County in the past yesr and half than have come (1 gone, nobody new).

I would go Madison Central, Henry Clay, Dunbar, Scott County, Lafayette and LexCath. After that, I think it's a toss up with a lot of teams. For top players, I think Hawkins and Whitman are 1-2. William Gary of Dunbar and Quin Richardson of Scott County are 2 kids that must be somewhere in the Top 10. Having said that, the region is loaded with talent and you would have a tough time narrowing it down to the Top 20. The one thing I will say is no matter how much Scott County lost, do not ever count them out. They may have different players, but they were very competitive this summer with their core group of returnees. So, if they added, watch out!

Yep, that would be best case scenario. I read an article when he first started the Magic he wanted to do this for a few years and become a college assistant coach. No idea whether he has that same thought, but taking the team to EYBL can't hurt his chances.

For the kids, it's a chance to play in the top AAU events. I know the Magic plays a heck of a schedule anyway, but EYBL trumps their current schedule. Plus, some of those Magic kids may want to be the main attraction their last year. I would like to see those kids stay together to be able to continue to represent KY at such a high level but I would understand if they didn't.

The kid at Scott County that was ineligible came from LCA -- Tanner Shotwell. His family lives in Georgetown and he went there all the way up through middle school. He transferred to LCA and as a freshman played only freshman basketball and a few minutes of varsity. He decided to transfer back to Scott County, but the family never moved at any point and he was ruled ineligible to play at Scott County and had to sit out a season. Completely different situation because the kid didn't move. But, that is the loophole. Shotwell simply wanted to come back with his friends, but since he didn't move couldn't play. All these other kids in various counties (including some others at Scott County) are moving for what EVERYBODY knows is one reason -- basketball -- but yet they are ruled ineligible. Either the KHSAA needs to put a 1 year you must sitout transfer rule no matter the reason or just let kids transfer whenever, wherever and for whatever reason they want. Forget the rulings and the in between, let's make it a black and white without the grey area.

The color green will decide this.

Thats the only thing that makes sense to me as I didn't see any current Magic kids leaving that program with the success they have had.

I heard a guard from Franklin County -- Casey Tabor. I believe this is who Triple Threat is referring to. If true, he will help Lafayette.

He is not a Magic normal roster player. He only played one week. Probably would have been more surprising if he went.

I'm not saying these 2 wouldn't be good choices (don't know enough about either), but some have suggested on this thread that Chalk had lost control and needed to go; therefore, I would you want to bring a Chalk disciple in if that is the case. Wouldn't you be better off to start from scratch?

Scott County just beat Perry Central (who beat Henry Clay in the semis) by 11 to win the Georgetown College team camp. Scott county went 8-1 in the event, losing to Covington Catholic last night by 3. They beat CovCath by 12 in the semis this morning. CovCath looked like they were without 2 kids today that played significant minutes last night. But I thought the difference was Scott County did a better job today on Ruthsatz and he played a lot of 1-4 one on one today that didnt get others involved. Quin Richardson has a nice day shooting for Scott County today.

Scott County has beaten Eastern A and B, Cooper and Bullitt Central. Jordan Brangers from Eastern shot it well and kept his team in the game. Cooper played Scott County close. I thought the big kid, Louis Mariciana (I know spelling is way off), played well. Didn't realize that's where Zach McNeil landed. He had a tough shooting game but looks like he will help them. Trent Gilbert has scored a lot of points and has also taken a bunch of shots as he is Scott County's main offensive threat. Quin Richardson is handling the ball well and running the team, while scoring when needed. Overall, they have looked as good as can be expected. And they always get after you defensively. Talent may be down a little overall, but Scott County won't roll over.

Scott County has scrimmaged twice, beating Grant County in each quarter and absolutely drilling Clark County. Word I got was Clark County was awful, but honestly I wouldn't expect anything different after what they lost. And, what they did last year, I wouldn't worry about what Clark County does in the summer. Scott County will be playing in Georgetown College team camp and KBA state as well as some other scrimmages (although I don't yet have details on those).

Doesn't former Woodford County coach Brad Mefford teach in the system. Somebody told me a couple of years ago we would probably be the successor when Chalk left. Of course, time changes a lot of things and I haven't heard that in a while. Does Thacker have a daughter that is getting close to high school? If so, it may come down to whether or not he wants to coach her in high school.
