  1. My point was a college official will typically allow more than a high school official. And, while some of the officials are the same, there are very few of the BBA officials doing Mid South games.
  2. Happy's college antics won't work with local high school officials. No idea what he got a technical for, but the Mid-South officials that knew Happy over the years let him (and every coach in the conference) get away with some things that others may not.
  3. I knew St. X was way overrated in the BGP pre-season rankings at No. 7. Outside of Kiesler, I am not sure they have anybody that puts fear in the opponents eyes.
  4. I said 77-69 in the prediction thread. Richardson scored 19 in the second half to Scott County in the game. Gilbert had an off night, 5-18 from field and five turnovers. For Scott County to have a chance without much from him says a lot.
  5. In my pre-season preview, I obviously had Dunbar overrated at 3rd in the region, although I heard Gary didn't play. But take nothing away from a good win for Hundley and Woodford.
  6. Scott County led 54-53 going to the 4th but Ballard scores first 12 of 4th to pull out the victory. Quentin Snider scored 20 to lead the Bruins, but Kelan Martin's play down low in the 4th when Jordan Tribble fouled out for Scott County was huge. Martin added 15. Quin Richardson led the way for the Cardinals with 22. Good high school game to begin the season.
  7. Ballard 77-69. Richardson and Gilbert keep Scott County in the game.
  8. Dunbar by 8, assuming William Gary is playing. Thought I saw somewhere he was having knee issues.
  9. Play Henry Clay Thursday and in Marshall Saturday. I think he has to miss both.
  10. Louisville commit Quentin Snider leads Ballard against perennial 11th Region power Scott County in what has become a traditional opening game for both teams. Ballard won the last the last 3 years and 4 of the last 5. Beside Snider, the Bruins will count on guard Lavonne Holland and forward Kelan Martin to continue the winning streak. The Cardinals will counter with the backcourt duo of Quin Richardson and Trent Gilbert. Who wins and why?
  11. I heard he got hurt but KOB a month away. Didn't know he would be out that long.
  12. Saw on Twitter he has been ruled eligible. I don't know the circumstances, but it seems like it's time to just rule everyody eligible and remove any transfer rules.
  13. Gates open at 3:00. Game starts at 4:00 Sunday. Only one game, Huntington Prep vs Christian Faith. $10 per ticket, open seating...I would suggest arrive early, many tickets have already been pre sold.
  14. You are actually speaking of senior Deonte Doss, who is a freak athlete and the one throwing down windmill dunks. Austin Kindred is a good athlete, but not in the class of Doss.
  15. Tates Creek at Scott County Thursday. I believe it starts at 6
  16. No doubt Gilbert can fill it up when left alone. Look for Richardson to have a solid senior season scoring the ball. The only younger kid I know about is Tae (sp?) Guyn, younger brother of current UC guard G-lawn Guyn. He is very athletic, but I would be surprised if he was a factor in his freshman season but he will definitely be an impact player before he leaves Scott County. Scott County will depend on some juniors and seniors who have been around the program for years and now must show their worth. Having said that, Thursday's scrimmage with Tates Creek will show much more than Monday did. Plus, projected starter Jalen Haddix is still in football but should be back before the season starts as the football Cards are projected to meet Trinity the Friday before the basketball season begins. Hopefully they pull out the shocker, but doubtful.
  17. Accurate on Florida kid (Jordan Tribble). He's eligible. Neils Bunschoten from the Netherlands not eligible, but I am sure the plan is to appeal. Very bouncy 6-9 wing who will obviously help the cause if ruled eligible. This isn't coming from anybody on the inside, but I hear it would be a surprise if he is ruled eligible.
  18. Huntington Prep vs. Christian Faith, Sunday November 18 @ Scott County High School. Tip is set for 4:00, tickets are $10 per, open seating.
  19. True, but he is from New York. He moved there in 4th or 5th grade and was only here for a few years. He played AAU in the summer in KY (I heard that was a big reason he moved here in the first place), but played back with the NY Gauchos the last few summers he was in KY.
  20. He did not go to Sayre in high school, only middle school. If all the kids that went to Sayre in middle school stayed there they would be a favorite in the 11th - Dakari Johnson, Jordan Green, Christen Cunningham and Mike Smith.
  21. Portwood didn't play last year and has been in and out of open gym this fall, so I am not sure if he will be there tomorrow when practice starts. McFarland is a starter at Tates Creek.
  22. The bigger question is should they have 3 of the Top 10? Based on talent and potential, then the answer is yes. If you are looking at top players that will make the biggest impact on the region they have something to prove.
  23. Scott County has had more kids leave to Woodford County in the past yesr and half than have come (1 gone, nobody new).
