Look at any Lafayette thread over the last year or so and you will easily figure it out. He didn't seem very happy when Tanner Napier quit Lafayette last year.

I think they have a new address, so he should be eligible.

It seems to be an issue for some concern if you only lose one player but have no idea who will play pg. If they figure out that spot, that will be very dangerous.

So who will play PG for Harrison? Sanders was their only real ball handler.

Led by one of the best players in the region -- Mason Monroe -- they are ready to compete for the wide open 10th. If some of the other kids they have step their level up to match Monroe, they will be a tough out come March. I guess based on the past 2 years (region semis 2 years ago, region finals last year), the next stepping stone is Rupp Arena.

I am 1000 percent sure he didn't play this past summer. He did the previous summer and did what you stated but definitely not this past summer.

This is old news. He didn't play with Scott County all summer and let it be known after last season he wasn't coming back. This is a tough loss for Scott County, though, as he would have helped this season. He wouldn't have supplanted incumbent starting point guard Quin Richardson (probably the reason he left), but would have definitely played an important role. First time in recent memory Scott County's roster shrunk from year-to-year as they have no incoming transfers I am aware of this season. But, don't feel sorry for them. With Tamron Manning and Isaiah Ivey leading the way, they should still be good. Maybe not as good as recent years, but a contender in the wide open 11th.

I am definitely not saying Handshoe won't run the point, but I would think the new coach would make the decision on who runs the point.

According to The Future above, McClendon owned the paint and glass at state AAU and I know Ky Select played 17U. So, I would expect he would be able to own the glass in high school as well if he did that weekend.

I understand officials sometimes have quick triggers, but once you get the first one (no matter why or how it occurred), it is time to sit down, shut up and only focus on coaching your team. Period!

We really shouldn't even need to discuss ejections. Simply shouldn't happen anyway.

No pressure on the new coach!

I believe what it is intended to mean is coaches can work with their players on skill development. Whether that ends up happening at schools is a completely different question. Same with the rule last year. Some coaches "interpretation" of open gyms was always different than others, if you know what I mean. I think there were good intentions when the new rule was approved, but I believe it can easily be abused.

I believe Yates was an assistant (possibly with Byers?). Danville had a nice team last year and he would be a great choice for Frankfort. Definitely someone used to the Single A atmosphere and with a school where football is king, but good athletes around to make a successful basketball program. In fact, Frankfort's best basketball player, Aaron Jackson, is (from my understanding) a top flight football prospect.

Norman is still in the building as the girls coach. Maybe they can move him back to boys.

SL obviously did a good job at the end in taking Davis before Beechwood had another crack at him, but to say they had everything lined up is obviously far from truth. It is well documentated SL took over 2 months to find a coach.

Frankfort is too much of a football program for the basketball program to succeed. Football coaches telling kids not to play basketball or if they do they will fall behind in football or not get a D1 scholarship. Until that changes no quality coach will want to stay.

You followed the bracket correctly. KY Elite had a tough week in more ways than one, but mostly the scoreboard. They were in every game and actually led in the 4th quarter or had a possession to take the lead in every game, but were never able to close the deal. The month of July started badly as Dalton Cornett (Perry Central) broke his foot in a warmup tourney. Then, in the first quarter of th first game in Orlando, Mason Monroe (Pendleton County) badly sprained his ankle and never played another minute. That left KY Elite with 7 kids. On top of that, their pool proved to be very tough, as one team KY Elite lost to in OT finished 7th overall and another they lost to by 4 in pool finished 10th out of 140 teams. By they way, no excuses, just the facts. In the end, the week was very frustrating to be that close every game against good competition but not be able to close the deal in any game. Other members of the team included Quin Richardson and Tyler Page (Scott County), Blake Sanders (South Laurel), Nate McGovney (Campbell County) Nick Trisko (Lafayette), Stephen Chambers (Mason County) and Dez Marshall (Collins). Each had their moments throughout the week, but obviously the moments were not enough. :ohbrother: Another note: Some KY teams did have success in the D-1 bracket. The Ville finished 9th overall and Louisville Finest won the Classic bracket. Congratulations to Crons for their finish.

I know it's been said, but this is embarrasssing for a school of South Laurel's stature. I can't believe they can't get a good coach. I always hear Jeff Davis' name mentioned for a lot of jobs and people on here saying he is a heck of a coach, I wonder if he applied or re-applied -- whatever may be the process. South Laurel may want to reach out to him, if not.

I heard Griesser was going to Bourbon County as assistant principal, possibly the middle school, not Royal Spring. I think he might have interviewed at Royal Spring, but again I heard Bourbon. Either way, congratulations to Keith!

It's a good job, I would think there would be several to apply, but probably not as many if this was open earlier in the summer. From what I had heard Breeden was in the mix last time. Goldie, any names you hearing out of the 11th.
