Led by one of the best players in the region -- Mason Monroe -- they are ready to compete for the wide open 10th. If some of the other kids they have step their level up to match Monroe, they will be a tough out come March. I guess based on the past 2 years (region semis 2 years ago, region finals last year), the next stepping stone is Rupp Arena.

Pendleton has as good a shot as anyone to win the wide open 10th Region. Everyone knows about Monroe, but they also return three other part-time starters from last year's team.

Senior Gabe Antrobus is the best shooter in the Region not named Omar Prewitt IMO. Senior big man Jared Rering has also polished his game in the post over the summer. Antrobus and Rering both played AAU ball for Crons this summer, and have been in the gym every day, working their tails off.

The health of Senior Guard Bryan Woods will play a big role in Pendleton County's success. He was a starter for Pendleton last year, and he was able to play the point for the last half of the season so defenses couldn't focus on Monroe so much. He missed all of summer ball due to a back injury, and is still not able to play from what I am told. If he can't go this year, Junior Garrett Appleman will take his place in the backcourt with Monroe. He had a very nice summer. Junior big man Ethan Moore should round out the Pendleton County starting lineup.

Seen Bryan Woods playing in a pick up game over weekend. Looked ok.

I concur that Pendleton County will be a tough out come March and should have a great regular season as well.

Having been to the regional finals, and having knocked off a primary contender last year will go far with the confidence and experience of the Cats this year.

I'm a huge fan of Mason Monroe and wish he and the Wildcats success this season.

How will Pendleton County respond to people having high expectations of them? No flying under the radar this year. That will be interesting to see!

I believe that Pendleton will be an interesting and fun squad to watch this year. I also agree that they won't be flying under the radar this year. The expectations will be high!

Very good point. It's sometimes a different ball game when you have a target on your back.

Pendleton County will indeed be a very tough out come March. A lot of returning talent, and I personally think having a court-savvy, experienced, steady point guard goes a long way in the postseason. Monroe provides all that and a little bit more for the Wildcats.

I give Montgomery County an edge, but PC isn't far behind.

P. County will have a nice squad this year. There always seems to be a lot said about Mason Monroe (rightfully so) but I think the key for them this year will be the improved play of Seniors Antrobus and Rering. Both had outstanding summers. Antrobus can flat out shoot the rock and Rering has become a lot more aggressive taking the ball to the rack and getting physical underneath. Good luck to the Wildcats this year. They will be fun to watch and will be making a lot of noise in the 10th!

If Pendleton and Montgomery play in the final, they had better stretch the walls because Pendleton brings the whole town.

Depending on the draw. Cats may not escape the 38th district.

Harrison County is a top 3 team in the Region IMO. Yet another reason the 38th district should seed. But that's for another thread I guess.

The Harrison County/Pendleton County rivalry definitely took off last year with the ridiculous PC comeback ended by that three by Antrobus. It would be a shame to not see both of those teams in region this season. I'm sure Harrison County will be looking to take the 38th crown from the Cats who have went back to back.

I don't think Montgomery and Pendleton will be in the regional finals this coming season.
