Basketball season for 2011/2012 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Holy Cross (Covington)? Remember, please be constructive.

Can we get a Christian McClendon update? People touted him as a top player in the state but I haven't seen him all summer.

Avery will lead them at PG, the kid can deal. Burger should lead them in scoring along with McClendon. I have heard they have a 6'6 stud transferring from cincy in who could be top 5 caliber.

Avery, Burger, and McClendon will be a very good trio for the Indians this year. I'd expect HC to battle Covcath for the second spot in the region tourney.

I seen him playing with Ky Select at AAU state and he played very good for playing down low. I think he and Barker owned the paint and glass for Select that weekend.

I know summer ball doesn't mean anything but i seen Holmes and Holy Cross this summer and I'm going to pick Holy Cross to win the district. Because the 6'6 kid is a stud I seen him with Holy Cross over the summer.

You may be right, I have also heard the kid is legit and will rank right up there with Hatton/McQueary and Higtchew for POY possibly. Throw in Jr Transfer Burt Pouncy and you got some pretty good athletes. They like to press you in the backcourt and get steals and I would think that will continue.

 

They couldnt throw it in the ocean from the beach last year, just downright awful shooters but when you got that much athleticism you dont need to shoot 10-15 footers....get it to the rim and score.

on the Cincy kid....Antonio Campbell and he's 6'7. Im not sure where he played last year. Maybe at Taft or Woodward.

With the addition of Campbell they should be the best in their District. Campbell will neutralize Holmes' Rice.

 

When Holmes/Holy Cross plays I wouldnt expect the shooting percentages to get over 30%.

 

That should be the toughest District with all of the teams supposedly having strong teams this year.

Obviously I'm a little biased but until proven otherwise Holmes is and will be tops in the 35th district, especially with what they return.

 

In terms of athleticism, there isn't a team in the region this year with more than Holmes.

 

And you haven't seen Rice this summer if you think he'll be neutralized easily. He's had a very good summer both aau and high school. Let's not forget that we're talking abour a kid that had 30 and 15 against Devante Parker and Ballard last year. Holmes only question is depth. The starting 5 will be as good as they come here in nky.
