Plato
There was a comment in another thread asking about officials trading regions for the tournament. If I remember right from last year it was a KHSAA decision and was mapped out for 3 years as to who would trade with who. Last year the 10th region had 9th region officials. There was one crew that was pretty good (Pouncy was on that one). But one crew really struggled with the low point being when they screwed up the fouls and let Prewitt back in the game after fouling out. That's right... he finished the game with five fouls. This was just one of a comedy of errors. I don't like the trading policy... but that is mainly because I believe the BBA consistently has the best set of referees and having them during the season means we won't have them for the games that really matter. Thoughts?
gold sunrise
This year, I have heard that the 10th will have the 16th region officials.
Plato
I should probably hold my tongue regarding what I have seen in the 16th.
gold sunrise
I should probably hold my tongue regarding what I have seen in the 16th. This could make the 10th more wide open than it alreay is.......
hoopsfan2
Dont hold your tongue Plato, I can assure you I wont, I am just gonna get louder and louder as long as I have the stats to back up my point! RomanEmpire
Seems like the Prewitt situation would be more of an official scorer error than the crew on the floor. No??

Let's not open this up again. It was an official scorer error. As strange as it was, they got it right in the end.
jahearme
This year, I have heard that the 10th will have the 16th region officials. This is correct and the 11th will get officials from the 9th. As a former official who worked regional tournaments both in and out of region, I actually liked going out a little better. Only bad thing about going out was the drive. My mileage check was more than my game check (which is a totally different thread topic).

My mileage check was more than my game check (which is a totally different thread topic). I stand corrected. A good buddy of mine in northern Kentucky just informed me that the 9th region officials will go to the 8th and the 11th region will get the 7th. Rainman11
Having officials moving out is the only way to do it. This eliminates any bias that some officials may have for or against a coach or school. The BBA is far and away the best association so those schools who have them on a regular basis reap the benefits night in and night out.
Plato
Yes.....wrong. Griesser put it in the paper and said it on the radio show that he watched the film and Prewitt had 5 and should have been out of the game.

It was handled totally wrong by the crew. But the whole game was poorly officiated and the next night was no better. I dont remember the tall guy's name but he made some strange calls. Thoughts? Is this same Pouncy that called the Championship game last year? If so even the good ones miss calls (Townsends three that was called a two)
