How has it went? Any thoughts?

I didn' see it as a factor in the 9th. Obviously, some calls you question, but never a difference maker.

I can say without reserve, the officiating crew from the 9th that did the game where Prewitt fouled out, only to be let re-enter the game was by far the worst I have ever seen. The error to let him return was the cardboard the cake came on... The rest of the game was the icing. Bad, bad, bad from tip to buzzer. Lost control early on.

That crew was unbelievably bad. I felt for the 9th region. If this was one of their best....Bless them. No wonder BB now looks like FB.

What game are you talking about?

What game are you talking about?

Last year.

Last year.

Thanks. Why are we talking about last year? I can't even remember last week!

I feel sorry for whoever gets the 6th/7th region officials! They will let you bang!! If you are a small team you will have no chance to beat a bigger school because they will physically beat you up and the refs won't call fouls.

Interesting you'd mention that, because the 5th ended up with 6th Region crews. They called the games much tighter than 5th Region stripes generally do. Which makes me wonder what the folks getting the 5th Region crews thought of their games.

My guess is you are not really clued in as to what actually happened.

16th region ref's called the 10th region this year. They called 3 T's on Mason Co in the semi-finals, 2 for taunting, one for unsportsmanship. They ran a tight ship on this area. Other than that, they let the kids play. In the GRC/Campbell Co game only 3 fouls called in the first half. GRC 3 Campbell Co 0. Never seen a high school game when a team had no fouls in a half. Thought they did a good job.

Who T'd up Mason?

I don't know their names. They both called the finals. A tall one and older shorter one with gray hair.

Sounds like Hall and Sublett. Sublett also T'd up Devon Turner in the District final Fairview vs Ashland for taunting. And T'd up Blevins for Boyd vs. Fairview in the first round for the same thing.

Not sure it was him, but sounds similar.

I think its a great idea, whether you like some of the officials in your regions or not, after 25 or so games of the SAME faces officiating its good to see some new faces and bring in new officials that dont know families or friends or people in the community. I think it take some of the pressure off of the referees, coaches and fans. And I am sure the referees are ready for a change of having the same coaches fuss at them etc. Works out better for everyone.

I watched the 11th region final last night at EKU and the officials they said were from the 7th region and I thought they did a very good job.
