This looks like a great list. I would add having great structure in the coaching staff all the way up. I think coaches should be working together to have a plan for the entire football program, let by the HC. Community support for this is important. I think you really need coaches at the lower levels who are there to actually coach and not just because they have kids in that age group. Alot of what Highlands, Trinity etc. excel in IMO is their attitude towards football. Look at how many fans are on this board, their communities are nuts over the game (in a good way ). To have a program like these teams do I think it takes years of hard work and dedication. But I see no reason why schools could not lay the the groundwork right now to get started trying to achieve greatness like these schools do. I don't know much about either programs history but I can guarantee the programs weren't built overnight or by people who were not willing to put into the work. I think it takes a good group of kids and a good coaching staff to have a good team, but it takes a great community to have a great program.

I would imagine most QB's in KY are taught to read some coverage. Like many have said, I think a common route would be to have a pre-snap read (MOFC/MOFO, man or zone tendencies), and then work from there. If you are running say, "smash", the QB is still reading the defense to decide where to go with the ball. No doubt a lot of teams go more in depth, but I would think that most schools have their QBs read coverage in some form or fashion. The Slack stuff seems very interesting. I would love to get a chance to learn from him.

Maybe this cannot be answered on here, but did the shirts have the direct offensive remark or was it what was said in the moderator's note at the top where the two first letters are switched? I can't believe students would be able to wear shirts like that.

More speed or relatively more speed compared to the competition? I seems like UF fans seem to really like him.

I honestly would have said Rose Hill with Bill Walker and OJ, until I read a team had 3. Must have been a while ago.

I think a coach needs 5 years. I think 3 is too short in most cases, because a coach coming into a new school doesn't usually get the full off-season schedule they would normally like to have. So year one is a kind of a waste, it should be about changing the culture of a program and getting the program set up to be successful. Put in schemes, terminology stuff like that. I think year 2 is really like year 1.b. It's a coaches first full year, and should be judged on improvement. First a foremost though I'm with CoachBuckett, I think that a coach needs to be able to graduate a senior class, which is 5 years.

I was expecting this to be a really good game, and no doubt the Pawsat injury really hurt Mason's chances. Belfry is a really good team, I thought they were the best team that West Carter had played though Mason was just about as good in my opinion. Here's to wishing Pawsat a speedy recovery and Belfry good luck going forward.

I don't know the situation but this is the 2nd round of the playoffs, and Boyle is a team thinking about going all the way. East Jessamine was good enough to get to the playoffs (don't know how many teams were in their district) and good enough to win a game. Forgive Boyle for playing a full game, a team cannot afford to take half a game off at this time of year (except in the most of extreme cicrumstances). I would think that alot of what they were doinig was trying to get things on tape so that other teams would have to prepare for them. What was the final score of this game?

Congrats to Russell. They seem to have really found their stride in the playoffs. I'm happy to see that they are still alive in the playoff chase.

Belfry tries to get outside alot more than they did in the past. I can't remember names but one of their RBs is extremely quick.

It's not brand new but Lil Wayne's stuff off of "I am not a Human Being".

How embarrassing and pathetic. If it was on this board you know what was said was not too out there because they do such a good job of keeping this place clean. Even if what was said was on another board and was a personal attack, I think it is poor taste for a coach to respond to it during a game and with that language.

Congrats to Lawrence on the win, like I always say it's always good for NEKY when they're good. Special congrats to my buddy Stick1, who I tried to message a week or two ago but his inbox was full .

I think it seems like Raceland is much improved the last few weeks. Hopefully it will be enough for you guys to go to Lex-vegas and steal a victory. :thumb:

This was my 2nd time going to the CAM for a game, and it's just an amazing, amazing place. Belfry is extremely lucky. Belfry would have a really, really good team if they would not put the ball on the ground. They have a good OL, their RBs are really good and they absolutely fly to the football on defense. I don't know if the fumbles are a pattern for them or if it was just one of those nights, but if they can hold onto the ball I think they have are going to be really tough for Mason County. Cline's injury was big, he's the one guy WC that really could have been a threat to break a long one on Belfry. WC just isn't built to handle a team as big and physical as Belfry this season, but this was an extremely successful season for West Carter. They lose alot so it will be hard to improve on this season but at least this team has shown that West Carter can be competitive on the region scene. Finally, it was good to meet Watusi at the game. Good luck to Belfry going forward as well in the playoffs. :thumb:
