I was thinking about my remarkable high school team from waaay back and it got me curious?

 

What is the most players off a single Kentucky High School roster for a given year that went on to play in the NBA ?

 

This team had three. Were there others with that many or more?

Three NBA players from one Ky high school roster has to be the most.

 

Maybe one of the prep schools that now exist could challenge that number.

 

My unresearched guess is the team that contained Darrell Griffith. I think he went to Male in the late 70's. I vaguely remember going to watch them play NC when I was a youngster.

Dont know the answer, but would love to know.

In 1993 we scrimmaged University Heights. Greg Buckner and Lamont Barnes I know for sure played in the NBA. I think Isiah Victor was also on the team. Not for sure though if he made it to the NBA.

When I first saw the thread title I didn't see "Ky". I immediately thought of Baltimore Dunbar, who had Reggie Williams, David Wingate, Reggie Lewis and Muggsy Bogues all on the same team back in the early 1980s.

1977 Ballard- Jeff Lamp went to Portland after UVA. Lee Raker to the Clippers via UVA and Jerry Eaves to the Jazz after Uof L.

Great talent and a classy group of guy's as well.

I read a column in The Corbin News Journal that talked about Corbin having 3 players playing at the same time on one NBA team, not sure if they played at the same time during high school or not. The three, Jerry Bird, Jerry Smith and Frank Selvy all played for the NY Knicks way back in the late 50's.
