They had a tie at the top and did a coin flip to see who would get the #1 seed. 3 and 4 were already set.

It's going to be a dog fight between Rowan, Ashland, West Carter and Elliott. But there are some teams in the region that could knock those teams off before they get deep in the regional tourney IMO like Lewis, Russell, and Fleming. I think Rowan has to be the favorite as of today, but that could change by the end of this upcoming week. I can't wait till the teams get to Morehead.

What is the knock on Pike? Why won't he play QB at the next level?

I just don't buy that he won't. Someone will be happy with a 4 or 5 star QB and will play him there. Not many were willing to keep Pat White at QB including most of the southern schools, but he went where he was definitely going to stay at QB. Granted I have not seen him in person, but I just can't imagine that there is not one offense in college football that could use him as a QB. Maybe the the pure passing schools that run pro-style or spread heavy pass offenses may not be completely sold on him, but I'll take the bet that he plays QB in college if he wants to.

He's one of the highest rated QB recruits in the country for next season and has offers from anyone and everyone. His offer list is the who's who of college football. Scout list: Florida, Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Penn State and USC among about 40 others.

Really? That would be a big time pickup for my boy Gundy. I would think Pike could do better than that, but I'm sure he'll go where he feels most comfortable.

Rayburn has been lights out lately. He's playing like a Sr. should. WC needs to continue playing hard and playing like they know they can beat anyone in the region. I think they have as good a shot as anyone if they don't get the deer in the headlights look like they did in the 4th quarter last year against Elliott in the district tourney.

I can remember being a kid and following these guys when they were in high school. I only caught a game or two, but they were always the team I looked for first in the Ashland Daily on Saturdays to see how they did. I can't say how awesome I think it is that these guys are representing Eastern Kentucky at the college and NFL coaching level. If/when they get head coaching jobs, I will be a huge fan of where ever they go.

I haven't seen him play, but his skill set seems like it would be perfect for Auburn...if Malzahn is there. What about Oregon, is he fast enough to play in their system?

I'll admit, I thought Coach Webb was going a little too hard on them to start the season. I'm glad to admit that I was completely wrong, there's a lot of good kids on this team they deserve to succeed. :thumb:

Actually Zeke would probably be better off not coming to the U. The fans have treated QBs awful down there since Dorsey left. As long as he doesn't go to Florida or Florida State I can cheer for him.

Lawrence County in 3A?

WC got their legs ran off every day to start the season. That's probably why they started kind of slow this year, but it has paid off of late. :thumb:

It would be nice to see him head down to Miami.

I've heard the Burns kid is really good. He's only a freshman isn't he? And most of Flemings team is really young too aren't they? They'll be dangerous at tourney time, may be too young to get to Rupp but they'll be a tough out.

I think West and East are the top seeds for the girls, I believe WC is the #1. Don't know who is 3 or 4. For boys I would guess that Elliott and West are the #1 seeds. I think WC has the inside track for the #1 if they win out in district. They would tie Elliott, but I think the tie breaker is head to head, followed by margin of victory head to head, is it not? I think West won by 12 and Elliott won by 8 during the two district contest. East would be the 3 unless something crazy happens, and Morgan would be the 4. I'll say this, if East is healthy I wouldn't want to play them in the first round, Baker is a heck of a coach.

I'm not really for sure, but I think it's the same time. Try about 9:45.

It was on WUGO. The next one should be there too, 102.3. And I'm really not a WC homer at all. I go to about 1 or 2 games a year, and post about them just as much. I like to keep updated on the scores, and I like this team but most of the time I don't really pay attention or particularly care all that much.
