Alabama @ Kentucky Thoughts/Predictions
Arm Chair QB replied to TheDeuce's topic in College Football
IMO Alabama is a better team than Florida at this pint in the season. With that being said, don't be suprised if they hang 50 on the cats. However, I am going to be generous with my prediction and say.... Bama: 38 UK: 14 -

Harlan County/Whitley County Predictions
Arm Chair QB replied to freshstart's topic in KY Football (High School)
I really don't consider Whitley to be the favorite in this game. I will take Daaaaaaaa Bears! HC: 28 WC: 21 -
Hartline goes 25-32 for 330 yds, 3 TD's and 0 INT's. Lones Seiber trucks Brandon Spikes and takes a fake FG in for a Touchdown to give UK the lead in the Fourth!!! Now that you have stopped laughing, I will be serious. UF:52 UK:17

Agreed, but as a coach you can't just run from the fact that you have a weak QB, especially in situations like that. Noone is going to think badly of Kiffin if he opens it up there in the late 3rd - 4th quarter. Even if you are afraid of what Crompton might do, you got to give your team a fighting chance to win. You have to think that some blue chip is sitting on his couch watching that game and is thinking, "man I could go right in to Tennessee and start as a true Freshman at a flagship school in the SEC." Honestly, a mid level recruit could start there over Crompton. Also, if Crompton is better than Nick Stevens, how the heck did that kid ever get a full ride to a D-1 school, much less Tennessee?

Hazard/Corbin Predictions
Arm Chair QB replied to campbellfield's topic in KY Football (High School)
Close one... Corbin will pull away late though. Too much defense on the part of Corbin in the end. They will put pressure on the Hazard QB unlike what he is used to seeing. Turnovers will be the key to this game, and I see Corbin getting some INT's. Corbin: 35 Hazard: 21 -
Back to the topic... I never thought Washington would win while only scoring 16, NEVER.

Great job by Kiffin to keep UT in the game. However, when UT was down 23-6 I was very suprised that he didn't open it up a little more. UT is not going to win 6 games and get to a bowl this year if they keep running away from their own QB. Crompton only made two bad decisions (that I can think of [iNT, Throwing into double coverage over the middle which was just dropped]) the entire game. Very impressed by the running game for UT, but this isn't 1980's Nebraska where you can throw the ball 10 times a game and walk away with a win. Being that one dimesnional in the SEC is going to equate to losses against everyone but a couple of teams. UT is a QB and a good WR away from being a great team.

McCreary Central 50 Leslie County 12
Arm Chair QB replied to 8756's topic in KY Football (High School)
Didn't expect this big of a win. Leslie is going to have to pick things up or it is going to be a long year over in Hyden. -
Are the seniors the best players? Seniority isn't always a reason to put people in the game.

Lexington Christian Academy 63 Breathitt County 21

Agreed... It is hard to judge him this yr after his performances last yr. -
Hazard must be for real.... I didn't doubt they would win, but I had no idea that they would win like this.

Rough season aking shape for the Green Dragons. I think everyone was expecting them to be much improved this year (which they may be), but 1-3 is not a good way to start... Looks like Mitchell's strategy of scheduling tough competition early is paying dividends for him now. Good win for the campers.

Future looks incredibly bright for the Pirates. Starting 2 Freshmen LB's and running the ball like this.... WOW!

I am kind of impressed with South in this game. I really expected this to be a blow out. Good showing by the South Laurel defense.

Has Fugate signed with UT or only commited? I know he is only one player, but with a couple of fumbles, negative runs, etc. you have to wonder if he is all that he is cracked up to be. -
UK Freshman Will Be Charged With Assault
Arm Chair QB replied to Wireman's topic in College Football
Sounds like T.O. pointing the finger of blame on someone else (That would be a good use of the sarcasm face.) I still want to know if it was a Flair Chop, or if it was more along the lines of a Rowdy Roddy Piper haymaker... :taz: -
The only way Florida wouldn't hang 50 on this team would be if they didn't show up for the game.... or if something else crazy happened. Wouldn't be suprised if Steven's isn't the starter at UT after this one. Reason, Spikes is probably going to hit Crompton more than Jorge Posada hit that pitcher from the Blue Jays last night. UF: 59 UT: 10 Good game, until the coin toss.... UT:

UK Freshman Will Be Charged With Assault
Arm Chair QB replied to Wireman's topic in College Football
Well, was it an open handed punch (similar to a flair chop) or was it a close handed, 1994 Mike Tyson style hook. I think this is all relevant. Haha, I'm j/k. I think something like this should result in him missing a couple of games and then let back on. I in no way agree with his behavior, but I don't think it was as bad (again I wasn't there) as the incident with the Oregon player. He is a freshman, kids do make mistakes, and he should pay for it. Any punishment short of stripping his scholarship would seem fair to me. Don't just throw him under the bus to make your program look good, give him a (1) second chance. -
Same thing I was thinking. He is depreciating like a used car.

If Michael Crabtree were to sign with the 49ers tonight (14 Sept), when would he see his first action? Would he even be able to contribute to the team after missing so much development to this point?
