The victor doesn't surprise me, the margin does......especially in Lex....

*sorry for the double post, please merge

Wow!! That exceeds even this Rebel's hopes for tonight. Way to Go Rebels !!! :thumb::dancingpa

Wow... Looks like the old Boyle Co. is back!

Great win for the Rebels! Boyle vs. Danville next friday!

Boyle County was very well prepared and very well coached for this game. Henry Clay needs to find their identity quickly.

Is it safe to say Lexington 6A football is hurting this season?

I think Henry Clay, despite what their center Samuel Simpson said, is down this season. Not a bad team and certainly capable of winning what might be a really poor district, but not a Henry Clay that can do anything in the postseason.

Boyle County is playing fine ball right now, though. Larry French is an outstanding coach. The Rebs might not be a state champion this season, but they're going to make a run.

This is a big win for Boyle even if HC is down...the Devils have been a thorn in Boyle's side ever since this series started.

I don't know that I would go that far. D looks like the Boyle of old. Swarming to the ball. O is not there yet. Macshara looked good 162 yards on 16 carries.

 I think you need to back and look at that series again. It started in 2001 and Boyle won the first four (maybe five). Henry Clay had won the last 2 (maybe 3). Most of the Rebel wins were blowouts like this year. :thumb:

You are right Hatz. After further review, Boyle holds a 5-3 advantage. With the exception of last year, these games have all been blowouts. Average margin of victory for the winner is 29.5 points (Boyle's 5 wins m.o.v. is 30.8 pts., HC's 3 wins m.o.v. is 27.3 pts)

2001 Boyle 32-0 @ Boyle

2002 Boyle 35-0 @ HC

2003 Boyle 46-7 @ Boyle

2004 Boyle 45-21 @ Commonwealth

2005 HC 48-13 @ Boyle

2006 HC 53-10 @ HC

2007 HC 47-43 @ Boyle

2008 Boyle 31-7 @ HC

The Larry French era is off to an amazing start. Doesn't surprise me a bit. The work he did at Lincoln County was nothing short of a miracle, and it appears he is getting BC back to late 90's early 00's form.

Ok guys....since I'm not there to watch the games and make the judgement myself....tell me the truth..is Boyle good or is Henry Clay having an off year because this score surprised the heck out of me.

Did the helmet decal change come with the arrival of French? I must say I like the retro "REBELS" decal better than the prior "B".
