North Laurel is coming off a shocking opening week win over heavily favored and highly ranked Pulaski County. Knox Central is coming off a loss to Somerset. This game is shaping up to be a MUCH better contest than anyone could have imagined just 2 weeks ago.

The first game of the Cumberland Valley Bowl.

What say you BGP? Does Chris Larkey's Jaguars carry the momentum over from a big win OR do Wayne Mills' Panthers show the quality of team every believes they have this year?

KC wins. Somerset exploited some weakness in KC's defense that NL will not be able to do. It will be a very close game but KC will win.

What were they?

North exploited some weaknesses in Pulaski County's defense, too. North is better than what most think.

I think it will be a close game after NL big win last week. I think that KC will win it in the end.

It seems that NL has won over a few with that big win. I hope they believe they still have much more to prove and come out as fired up and focused as they were for the PC game. They will need to because you can bet that Coach Mills will have the attention of his Panthers after their loss.

I believe this will be a lower scoring game but should be a dandy! I believe the last time these 2 teams met was in the CVB and NL won a very close game at South Laurel. I am more excited about this game then I was a few weeks ago.

Knox Central 22-20.

This one is too close to call

After last weeks loss at home for KC and the huge win for North. I feel the Panthers may be in trouble. They have some good young talent, but lost several very good players from last year. North Laurel 21 KC 14

This game could come down to who wants it more.

North needs this game to establish credibility and with games against South Laurel and Corbin to follow up with, the Jaguars NEED to prove to everyone, and themselves that they are for real.

Knox Central wants to show that the #7 ranking in 4A was not a mistake and that they are legit. They just ran into a very motivated Somerset team with a brand new hungry head coach who wanted to prove that Somerset football is more than just one coach, but about a team. KC needs to show others, and themselves, that they are indeed what many thought they would be. They are in a VERY tough district with Bell County and Rockcastle and cannot afford to go into district play with 2 losses they did not expect when the season started.

Both teams are wanting to show that they cannot be defined by just one game. I have seen seasons when NL has defeated 1 highly ranked team, but it has probably been YEARS since they have beaten 2 in the same season, much less back to back. This game is about credibility. I picked North after witnessing their win on Friday, ... but if KC wins, I would not be surprised. This one may be too close to call.

How many touches did the younger Canady get last week? I listened to a little of the game on the radio and the announcers were calling for KC to get the ball to him more often. This game is a toss-up.

Seems he did not get it enough.

Somerset has good speed at most postions and a very capable QB. They took advantage of KC's size and lack of foot speed. NL is not that type of team. Waldruup IMO will not find that much running room against the Panthers.

Waldrup is a very good player he might be hard to stop. KC could have trouble if they let NL control the ball.

I have listend to alot of radio guys over the years and mostly they know just enough to get coaches under fire with stuff like that. Generally speaking I would think that coaches know more than most radio guys who just show up on Friday night barrow a roster and do the game.

Although the kid may be pretty good, my question would be is he ready mentally and physically for the beating that he would take in HS as opposed to MS....big difference.

I learned my lesson last week picking against Coach Larkey....
