Somerset has good speed at most postions and a very capable QB. They took advantage of KC's size and lack of foot speed. NL is not that type of team. Waldruup IMO will not find that much running room against the Panthers.

 

PC has a very fast team. The comments out of PC is that is may be their fastest team ever. NL also showed that Fugate, Sapcut, Sulfridge, Wagers are capable runners as well. I think this will be a great game!

In this game, I think it is experience vs. new exposure.

I think KC will win due to the experience and a slight talent edge.

I do not think it will be a run away and I do think that NL is going to be something that will have to be dealt with as time goes on, but I think that KC has the edge and wins by 6 to 8 points.

 

That said, IF the KC Panthers go into this game looking to make up for last week's loss, overlook the Jags due to history or thinking NL will just lay down, this would make for the 2nd upset in 2 weeks for Chris and the Jags.

The NL/SL game is the very next week. That should be interesting indeed. I think you have a point on the experience factor. But talent wise, this junior class is as talented from top to bottom as any they have had in 10 years at NL. If Larkey can keep their focus, they have the potential to be pretty good. I think the curtain has been lifted now and there shouldn't be any team's overlooking NL now. Noone expected that win, .... except Larkey and the Jags. I am a firm believer that Chris goes into every game expecting to win. This team seems to reflect their head coaches intensity, and that is a good thing.

Don't under estimate the talent at NL.

Knox Central will come to Laurel County very focused, they will not be looking to start the season 0-2. Coach Mills and staff are too well focused to let Knox Central come in and not play excellent. A lot of people have forgotten the talent level KC possesses and their experience. North Laurel is definately the under dog is this one as KC losing is just as much Somerset being under-rated as KC being over-rated. KC has a huge powerful offensive line with a big bruising fullback that is around 6'3 240. Very fast TB and smart QB, as well as a disciplined defense and I've heard the new kid has fit in really well.

I think the Panthers ran into a Somerset team who was tired of hearing about the coaching change and wanted to win one for the program. They were very focused. Knox Central is going to be ready to play, I have no doubt. I just hope that North Laurel can continue to build momentum by playing as intense for 4 quarters as they did against PC. They will have to against a very tough Wayne Mills coached squad.

It seems that NL has won over a few with that big win. I hope they believe they still have much more to prove and come out as fired up and focused as they were for the PC game. They will need to because you can bet that Coach Mills will have the attention of his Panthers after their loss.

 

I believe this will be a lower scoring game but should be a dandy! I believe the last time these 2 teams met was in the CVB and NL won a very close game at South Laurel. I am more excited about this game then I was a few weeks ago.

 

Well, at least one dummy (blush) clicked the wrong button and voted for NL by accident. Once again I think it comes down to how fast KC's new kids improve after getting a game behind them. The talent is there and once the light bulb clicks on I think they'll be in good shape.

 

I'm impressed with the NL turnaround so quickly. I knew that Chris would build a good program but I expected it to take a bit more time. Those Larkeys know a little bit about football, don't they?

This will be a close one 22-20. You can pick the winner. Turnovers will be the differance. Coach Mills has done a great job at KC and the Larkey name speaks for itself.
