To say this entire thing has been mishandled with the Wallace announcement and his final year at St. X is an understatement.

Absolutely love the manner in which Trinity schedules. Even though PRP is a step down from Bryan Station (at least under Coach H), the Rocks always take on strong programs, well coached teams, diverse styles of opponents and impressive fan followings. That approach also provides some really good competition for the Trinity freshman and JV squads. And, by the time the KHSAA playoffs roll around they have a battle tested group of players and coaches.

I would say it often depends on the district superintendent or principal. Do they support the head coach/staff for trying to do what is the best thing for the team/program, or, do they want to appease buddies in the community and answer to “power brokers” in town?

In season transfer vs out of season transfer has no bearing on transfer eligibility. If the student is academically eligible at the receiving school and on pace with credits toward graduation, the KHSAA “one year sit out” decision is based on whether the student meets published exceptions to the transfer by law. Or if not meeting those published exceptions, has the appeal process to the KHSAA Commissioner resulted in the transfer student being ruled eligible at the new school, whether in season or out of season.

Yes. You are correct. Trinity should have closed it out. And their PG should not be bailed out by the officials for flopping 4 or 5 different times. Both are true.

A shame such a competitive game between two good teams was so poorly officiated. X shot 37 free throws to 14 for Trinity. The Tigers point guard is a big time flopper. Sticks his legs and armd out on 3 point shots. The refs bailed him out repeatedly. He shot 22 free throws himself. Absolutely absurd.

The KHSAA simply no longer has any credibility in this area. Why? Because their by-law regarding transfers clearly states that transfers are not allowed for athletics purposes. Either change the by-law (requires schools to vote for such a change) or enforce the by-law (requires enforcement by the KHSAA).

Wow. Coach Reed is a good coach. Is he ready for 6A “big boy” football? Godzilla awaits him in District. Another District foe, Ballard, is no slouch. OCHS is normally a 3 or 4 seed going in to Round 1 of 6A playoffs. A huge hill to climb.

Ryle’s running clock win, and being much more recent, is more impressive to me than the Tigers 7 point win in early October.

They dropped 2 running clock games- one for and one against.

Bingo. Flawed for sure. 1. If you are going to have 6 state champs across 6 classifications, then how can you have 1 combined All State team? How in the world can you compare a DL from a 2A school playing a Bracken County schedule with a DL from a 6A school playing a FD schedule. 2. How can a coach in Paducah know one single thing about a player in Covington or in Paintsville?
