2025 Saint Xavier Tigers

Featured Replies

The 2025 season will be the last for Coach Kevin Wallace who has announced his retirement at the conclusion of the 2025 season. The Tigers ended the 2024 season with a 2nd round playoff loss to Ryle 38-17 and a record of 7-5.

Returning offense playmakers:

QB Mason Trimble who threw for 2300 yards and 21 touchdowns with 5 interceptions. He also rushed for 315 yards and 4 touchdowns.

WR/RB Marlon Harbin who had 704 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns. He also had 639 yards receiving with 6 touchdowns.

WR Lucas Shelton who had 561 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

Returning defensive playmakers:

LB Luka Bentz 71 tackles with 9 for a loss and 3 sacks.

LB Karsten Busch 59 tackles with 12 for a loss and 7 sacks.

LB Benjamin Pinkston 50 tackles with 3 for a loss and 2 sacks.

The Tigers return the key skill guys so the success of the offense will be determined by the play of the offensive line where they graduated a key guy in Grant Whitmire. The defense returns the top 3 tacklers who are all linebackers so that unit should be the strength of the defense. The defensive line graduates Erik Ekens plus most of the secondary. The St. X freshman class was really good especially on the defensive side of the ball so some those guys will probably see the field as sophomores. I think with the way this season ended that the kids will be working hard in the off season. The biggest question for 2025 will be who the next coach is at the end of the season. As far as the schedule, the Bowling Green game has been moved to 8/29 from the last game of the season. I'll be interested to see if Elder (OH) is still on the schedule or a different GCL South team like St. Xavier (OH) who they have played in the past.

We went to St. X for 7 on 7 this past Tuesday night. They will be really good this season.  This will be Coach Wallace's last season. It is also Coach French's last season. They are the first gue

Congratulations to Mr. Tinius on his posting as St. X's Executive Director of Athletics. Running the largest and most successful athletic program in the state is a big deal, certainly worthy of a bigg

On the Boyle County post says they are playing St. X. I'm curious who they are replacing on the schedule from last year.

I believe Boyle is replacing Ryle.

In the Ryle thread @StraightShooter thought Ryle and X were still going to play.  I hope so too, that is a GREAT game for both teams.

Anyone?

I was assuming so count me wrong in regards to Ryle/St X in 2025. My apologies.

I just confirmed with a reliable source that Ryle and St X did not renew their series.

They dropped 2 running clock games- one for and one against.

X and Ryle split so I don't think that is fair.

Ryle’s running clock win, and being much more recent, is more impressive to me than the Tigers 7 point win in early October.

I don't think any team in Kentucky, including Trinity, was beating Ryle on 11-15-24 but I hear what you are saying.

You are right Guru, saw some of the game on Youtube and the ship, canon or whatever,  got rolling early and was hard to stop.

Here's what I've found thus far:

Aug 22 - OPEN
Aug 29 vs. Bowling Green
Sep 5 vs. Male
Sep 12 - OPEN
Sep 19 vs. Elder (OH)
Sep 26 vs Trinity (at Cardinal Stadium)
Oct 3 at Boyle County
Oct 10 at Manual (District)
Oct 17 - OPEN
Oct 24 - OPEN
Oct 31 - OPEN

North Hardin and Pleasure Ridge Park will be the remaining two district games, plus a non-district game against Owensboro...that leaves the Tigers with one more game to line up to finish out their 2025 schedule.
