Just announced on Twitter. Coach Reed was the head coach at rival South Oldham for 13 years. He had a very successful tenure reaching the 5A Semi Final twice and regional finals many years. I’m sure this will go over well in the county..

Wow. Coach Reed is a good coach. Is he ready for 6A “big boy” football?  Godzilla awaits him in District. Another District foe, Ballard, is no slouch. OCHS is normally a 3 or 4 seed going in to Round 1 of 6A playoffs. A huge hill to climb. 

Coach Reed is a very good coach and even better person.  He will do a great job at OC.  Great hire!

Jamie Reed is a great coach and even better person. I believe he will do very well at OC!! As much as the Dragons hated to see him go, I wish him the best of luck (except when they play the Dragons!).

My nephew is an 8th grader at Oldham and is a really good player.  Look forward to seeing how well he does at Oldham.  

I am guessing Coach Reed will remain AD at East Oldham Middle School. I understand he prefers to "run the ball". Welcome to 6A District 5.

Relatively speaking, there is "big boy" football in almost every class,  every region & every district.

Mayfield, Beechwood, Owensboro Catholic, LCA, etc are "Godzilla" to the vast majority in 2A.

CAL and Central are in 3A.

Boyle, Corbin, CovCath, Tilghman, Johnson Central, Ashland, etc and now throw Highlands back into the mix are "Godzilla" to everybody else in 4A.

You get the idea.

Get ready to watch the triple option. Will be interesting to see how it translates to big boy football. Probably tougher to “wear down” teams in 6A when they don’t have many players going both ways.

Plenty of schools throwing it around in that class and others doing all things "spread" and getting nowhere.

Ahh, we can't talk about the ones having success in anything "3 back life", especially if it's heights they've never reached before in doing so in the program. 

Just like we can't ever speak of the countless ones out there getting their brains bashed in more than not being all 'Fun 'n' Gun' throwing it around the yard (or should I say "attempting" to do so? Maybe shot putting it is a better description?).  Oh! If they are doing this, and with "tempo"? You bite your tongue. I don't care if they only scoring around 10 ppg & throw an interception for every TD! They're "exciting" to watch!

We have to only negatively magnify those using some old school approaches, regardless if they've been successful in doing so before!

C'mon @WishboneCity, I thought you knew the societal rules of acceptable football philosophies in 2025! Get it together! ?
