  1. I think Gumm retired voluntarily, unlike what appears to have happened to Irvin.
  2. So TC canned their head coach to *potentially* hire an assistant who was directly under said fired head coach? Seems to be the trend at TC. Happened with football and now *apparently* basketball… hmm
  3. This team should be just as good as last season. If the RPI works out in their favor, I could easily see them on Kroger Field.
  4. 2024 Outlook The Warriors look to improve on a 9-4 2023 season that saw them claim another district title, but fall 10 points short in a region championship game against a very good Cooper team. Southwestern will be without their leading rusher from last season, Christian Walden, and will have a few new faces on the O-line. But, they return a large amount of production on both sides of the ball. This program has been very close to a breakout—could 2024 be the year that we see Foley's squad at Kroger Field? 2024 Schedule (2023 Record) Week 1: vs. North Hardin (1-10) at Campbellsville High School Week 2: BYE Week 3: at South Warren (9-3) Week 4: vs. Belfry (8-4) Week 5: vs. Mercer County (10-2) Week 6: at North Laurel (8-5) Week 7: at Harlan County (1-10) Week 8: at Franklin County (13-1) Week 9: vs. South Laurel (5-5) Week 10: vs. Pulaski County (4-8) Week 11: at Henry Clay (0-11) Record prediction anyone?
  5. Nope. PC missed this chance to stick out the waning Hines years.
  6. Very surprised by how skewed this poll is. I’m more surprised by how many people think this game will be a blowout…
  7. 5 point game - Boyle County 4 point game - Lexington Christian Academy 3 point game - Male 2 point game - Bryan Station 1 point game - Union County
  8. When looking at Cooper's schedule, the Ryle game sticks out like a sore thumb. What happened in that one?
  9. On paper, Cooper is a great matchup to beat the Warriors. Every team that has bested SW this year has done it through the air and that’s what Cooper excels at. However, SW will have the size advantage up front on Friday. Will that equate to actually winning in the trenches? We will find that out soon enough.
  10. I didn’t have enough time for the research, so I appreciate that. Campbellsville by running clock because of the transitive of the transitive property!
  11. This is such a hard one to predict. These teams don’t have anything that closely resembles a common opponent.
  12. I’ve been trying to make North Laurel happen for around 2 years now and it all comes down to this. Do I think the Jags win? No. However, I think North Laurel can grind this game out enough to make the score respectable. The most points NL has given up all year is 28. It would be quite the feat if Highlands is able to running clock them—especially in the first half.
  13. This is insane to think about. I never would’ve imagined NCC would be close to schools like Caverna or Phelps.
  14. If I predict one way, there is a 99% certainty that the other way will prevail. I posses the kiss of death.
  15. SW kicker sees an opening and onside kicks it to himself when the Warriors are up 35-7
  16. Pros of this job: you should host a playoff game relatively easily for the next three years Cons: you’ll never win the district Regardless, I hope the Commanders can get a solid coach that will keep kids coming out.
  17. Scott County was supposed to be one of the teams all year. Now I have my doubts. SC appears to be solid, but who is their best win? Woodford? They’ve only beaten two teams that made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs at any level and it’s Madison Southern and Madison Central… (that’s not great) I think Cooper is solid, but I think they are mucked into an NKY echo chamber that’s giving people a lot of false hope. Having said that, I think that both teams will move the ball at will. So I’ll go with the team that can control the ball more: Scott County. p.s. look for Scott to take at least one or two kickoffs back. p.s.s. the assertion that Scott doesn’t have the athletes that Cooper has proves you haven’t watched Scott County.
  18. This one will be ugly, but worth paying attention to for some fans. Future Kentucky OL, Hayes Johnson, will probably battle both of Corbin's Smith twins in some one on ones.
  19. While most readers seem to leave this game off their radar, the winner still will go to a region championship. Both of these teams look to take their programs to the next level. The narrative around North Laurel has been that they are close to making the "jump" into the top-10. Can they do that tonight? Stream: WBONTV on Youtube
  20. I’ve heard the “they watered the field last night so we couldn’t beat them with speed” excuse around a dozen times. It always seems to come after a pretty heavy rain…
  21. I agree with a lot of this, however… I don’t necessarily think home field advantage is predicated on travel time and fan attendance. In my opinion, away games are hard because of the shift in routine. different field, different locker room (if there even is one), different press box setup, etc. At home, there’s a sense of comfort. For example, there is never any anxiety about replacement equipment, training room facilities, etc. You know what you have and what you don’t. On the road, comes a plethora of stuff to worry about from the bus ride to getting taped to warmups. In my opinion, I think it is always easier to play at the venue where you spend 95% of your time as a team.
