  1. Belfry gets the ball after halftime. They have an over 7-minute drive that stalls out in the SW redzone. SW ball on their own 11.
  2. Belfry converts after the turnover. PAT is no good. 14-13 SW 1:29 left
  3. 14-7 after Belfry answers on a QB keeper. 4:00ish left in the 2nd quarter.
  4. Belfry fumbles again, SW takes over in their own 11. 9:00 left in the 2nd
  5. 35 yard TD pass from SW. 14-0 SW 1:30 left in the first quarter.
  6. Belfry QB fumbles the snap on their second play from scrimmage. SW ball inside Belfry territory.
  7. At this rate this game will be over quickly. Both teams are going to look to control the football.
  8. SW gets the ball first, drive gets extended on a roughing committed by Belfry. SW ends up scoring on a 3rd and goal. The drive was over 8 minutes long. PAT good. 7-0 Warriors
  9. Coach Prime has lost 6 games total in 3+ years coaching football. Regardless of what level of competition, that is still very hard to do. He has consistently surrounded himself with great coaches and players that lead him to excellent seasons. As momma Cornette always said, "It's not X's and O's, it's Jimmys and Joes".
  10. Kentucky will limit the damage wherever possible. There are more than a few UK alum on staff and Stoops has been clear that he really respects those guys. I expect this one to be typical FBS vs. FCS ugly--but not that ugly.
  11. Lake Cumberland Sports will have this game live via video stream:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpuIlpm8_wY&themeRefresh=1
  12. Harrison County's Haydon Custard has 851 yards passing, 439 yards rushing, and 16 total TDs through 3 games. These stats go along with a fumble recovery and a pick-six. Do I think he will win the award? No. Does he deserve some recognition for what he's doing? Absolutely. Also worth mentioning that Daniel Thomas is on pace to break the single season rushing record if Bell County were to make it to a region championship (yes I know there are a lot of "ifs" factored into that but it gives us something fun to keep track of).
  13. I think both of these teams are much better than people think. Station started off slow, but bounced back strongly when they beat a very good Bowling Green team who is one of the best teams in 5A. Ballard has two solid wins against PRP and 5A Southwestern, but lost in a drumming to Male. For what it’s worth, I believe those two teams are much closer than that game made it seem. The contest was stopped due to storms after Ballard seemed to have momentum early in the first half, and was restarted early the next morning. Not easy to get a true reading on that one if you ask me. With all of that out of the way, I think Ballard takes this one at home. However, I would not be surprised if Station won and shook some things up even more than they already are in 6A. I legitimately believe any 6A team in the top 10 can beat anyone in the state on any given Friday.
  14. Wayne County (3-0) welcomes Madison Southern (1-2) for what I believe to be a solid matchup. The Cardinals hoist a perfect record coming off a three-point victory over Casey County. The Eagles are coming off a huge cross-town rivalry win against 6A Madison Central. Who wins and why?
  15. Belfry (2-1) plays hosts to Southwestern (0-2) on Friday, which will be only the 4th matchup in the last decade for these two teams. The Pirates (#6 in 3A) have only faltered in a 30 point loss to what appears to be a very solid George Rogers Clark team. On the flip side, the Warriors (#8 in 5A) have gotten off to a less-than-desirable start with losses to Ballard and South Warren, respectfully. Both teams will likely look to keep the ball on the ground as both Coach Haywood and Coach Foley prefer to try to break an opponent's spirit by running it down their throat. Regardless of which team wins, it will probably be viewed as a 'statement' win as the season hurdles to district play. Who wins this slugfest, and why?
  16. 14-14 8:28 left Walden scores another TD—Rushing this time. Defenses are struggling/Offenses are rolling
  17. South Warren dots Southwestern up and ties it. 7-7 4:50 left in the first
  18. Southwestern airs it out. Walden catches a 40+ yard pass from Burton. 7-0 Warriors
  19. I promise I’m being serious and not pulling your leg—but this is the new swag these days. It is not unusual to see a player with a legitimate mouth guard in, and one dangling from their helmet/wedged in it somewhere.
  20. When you see a team in HS football with a bye in Weeks 1-3 it is typically not by design. In fact, there have been more than a few teams in the last couple of years that took a bye in Week 1. There is a push and a pull to making a schedule—and often to get the games your team needs— you have to make a few sacrifices, and a Week 2 bye is certainly worth it if you get to play stiff competition. This especially reigns true in the day of the RPI. I would imagine most coaches would agree that it’s better to have a bye week in Week 2, than to take a cupcake game so you can have Week 7-10 free. Furthermore, Southwestern isn’t exactly in the most accessible area in the state. Therefore many teams probably shy away from scheduling them to avoid a 2+ hour bus drive. Like many schools in the state, they are limited to a select few teams that are willing to play them/travel to their place, and all of those willing participants have schedules of their own… So sometimes you just get what you get…
  21. The game will be broadcasted live on Lake Cumberland Sports. https://lakecumberlandsports.com/
  22. Play on the general hostility that follows NKY football coupled with the fact that it is W’s first time back in Highlands. It’s not that deep, meant as a haha. I do not believe fans will legitimately throw hands in the stands; they reserve that ill will for the message boards.
