Totally agree with the latter point. “Why won’t anyone be an official anymore?!?” and ”Why won’t officials enforce this mouthpiece rule!!!!?!?!?” seem like mutually exclusive statements. It seems unconscionable to me to want a penalty for no mouthpiece. If you want it to be penalty, you have to be able to call it at any point of the game. There is absolutely no way I would hypothetically want a penalty called on the LG who is sucking wind on a two-minute drive for not having his mouthpiece in. If you can’t call it with the game on the line, you can’t call it ever. Period. Officials in the state are undoubtedly making the right judgement call on this.

If you asked me after week 1, I would have told you that this game would decide the district. It seems like every season the wheels fall off the Jags around the week they play Southwestern. PC easily.
