1. Bourbon County (12-2) - The Colonels defeated two top tier 11th region teams last week. First they knocked off Frederick Douglas 69-66 to capture 3rd place in the prestigious Traditional Bank Holiday Classic over at Lexington Catholic. Amirion Joyce had 18 points and 9 rebounds in the victory over the Broncos. Then, Bourbon County went on the road and defeated Tates Creek 69-59. The Colonels have wins over the three best public schools in Lexington.

2. George Rogers Clark (10-3) - KJ Rucker (23 points), Jared Wellman (22 points), Jerone Morton (20 points) and Lincoln Bush (10 points, 17 rebounds) all played well in the Cardinals road 84-67 victory over Robertson County. The Cardinals then beat East Jessamine 70-60. Lincoln Bush is averaging a double-double this season.

3. Bishop Brossart (11-2) - The Mustangs defeated Campbell County 67-58 and Williamstown 73-46 to run their winning streak to an impressive 10 games. Ethan Eilerman and Carson Schirmer each scored 21 points and Stephen Verst had a double-double in the big district victory over Campbell County. Bishop Brossart appears to be challenging Bourbon County and George Rogers Clark as legitimate regional title contenders. The Mustangs are looking to make a deep run in the All A Tournament.

4. Montgomery County (9-5) - The Indians picked up wins over Paintsville (65-59) and Bell County (82-74). Montgomery County had dropped three of their previous four games heading in to last week. They have an important district showdown at Bourbon County on January 7.

5. Campbell County (7-6) - The Camels lost to the surging Bishop Brossart Mustangs 67-58. The game was competitive, with the Camels holding an 11 point lead at one point. Jordan Gross and Dane Hegyi led the way with 16 points apiece. Freshman Aydan Hamilton was also impressive. Campbell County hosts one of the top teams in the state (Covington Catholic) on January 8.

6. Robertson County (10-4) - The Black Devils have dropped four games in a row. They have been on a downward trajectory over the past two weeks. This week they lost to George Rogers Clark 84-67 and lost to Augusta 73-68. Robertson County had defeated Augusta 70-44 to open the season. It is hard to explain how or why the Black Devils started out so well, but then fell so far. Their defense perhaps is the biggest reason why.

7. Mason County (6-5) - The Royals defeated Mercer County 70-56 behind 23 points and 9 rebounds from Alex Schalch. Schalch should be considered as one of the top candidates for 10th region player of the year. Jake Swolsky drained 4 of 6 three pointers in the victory.

8. Augusta (8-7) - The Panthers avenged a season opening lost to Robertson County by turning the tables on the Black Devils and defeating them 73-68. Preston Philpot scored 23 points on 5 of 6 three point shooting in the victory over Robertson County. Augusta blew out West Union, OH to finish 2-0 on the week.

9. Scott (4-8) - The Eagles have consistently proved to be a middle of the 10th region team this season. Kyle Huelsman (30) and Grant Profitt (25) combined for 55 points in the Eagles 78-76 victory over Pendleton County. Scott fell to Lexington Christian 66-49. The Eagles are shooting an impressive 75% from the charity stripe this season.

10. Pendleton County (4-8) - The Wildcats lost to Scott 78-76 and Sayre 75-73, bringing their losing streak to 7 in a row. Tredyn Thomas scored a combined 63 points in the two games last week.

11. Paris (3-7) - The Greyhounds remain in the number 11 spot after being idle last week. Ricqiece Washington is averaging 20 points per game for Paris.

12. Harrison County (2-10) - The good news is that Harrison County defeated Nicholas County for the 2nd time this season (their first win over Nicholas County came on December 13.) The bad news is those are the Thoroughbreds only two victories of the year. They play Bourbon County in the 2A Section Tournament on January 9.

13. Calvary Christian (6-5) - The Cougars suffered a tough 56-53 loss to Ludlow, and then defeated Portland Christian 79-52. They play Bishop Brossart in the first round of the 10th Region All A Tournament.

14. Nicholas County (2-10) - The Bluejackets lost to Harrison County 65-58 and Bath County 89-61. They play St. Patrick in the first round of the 10th Region All A Tournament.

15. Bracken County (4-10) - The Polar Bears suffered two losses in the Not Quite Hawaii Challenge in Covington. They fell to Covington Holy Cross 84-61 and Ryle 78-38. They play Robertson County in the first round of the 10th region All A Tournament.

16. St Patrick (3-8) - LJ Connor scored 33 point to lead the Saints to a 73-33 win over Bellevue. St. Patrick lost to Fleming County 76-49. The Saints play Nicholas County in the first round of the 10th Region All A Tournament.
