All In
Does anyone know the last time they went to the Sweet Sixteen and how far they got, etc.? Didn't they have a really good team in the 80's at one point?

I'm not sure. I would guess there is a database somewhere, but where to look I have no idea. There might be some type of link on the Herald-Leader website, but I believe they just have UK stuff. I don't think there are any game stats on the KHSAA site that far back.

nikeman49
Breathitt Co. basketball is a joke.....too much politics and coaching changes to suit political needs and wants....football is the only sport supported and the baseball and basketball teams get absolutely no commitment from anyone!! This happens 99% of the time when your AD Coaches a Sport, better bet he will take care of his program.

nikeman49
I can understand this to a certain extent, but the system at Breathitt Co. doesn't serve the kids justice.....weight lifting and lift-a-thons going on during baseball season, also Spring football going on during baseball season as well.....basketball has gone South and the few athletes that are in this county are persuaded to lift during basketball season as well......someone from higher administration needs to step in and take charge!! Jim Schue
By the same token, schools the size of Breathitt Co. have to pick their battles. Smaller schools simply can't be good at everything. And if they're great at something -- and it can be fairly said that Breathitt is a great football program in the mountains -- it invariably comes at the expense of other sports. That sometimes translates up to larger schools, as well. Kentucky is full of examples where schools pick their spots in which to be competitive. nikeman49
Point well taken....nevertheless, is this fair to the kids that choose baseball or basketball as their #1 sport and then suffer due to lack of support?

It's unfortunate, but I would caution that it could be worse: They could be a girl playing sports.
nikeman49
Girls athletics are treated the exact same way...nonexistent to AD and administration.....don't think it could be any worse!!
