Congrats to all the young men selected but particular congrats to Towles, Sheehan and the Bruns twins. Very deserving, each and every one of them.

Did Jason Hatcher make someone mad or something? That kid is already the most sought after LB in the state as a JR already receiving multiple major D-1 offers and he doesnt even get honorable mention?

BUT, if you knew the process that determines the Associated Press All-State team, you wouldn't put much stock into it.

 

The Courier-Journal, Herald-Leader and BGP All-State teams are much more reliable.

There will be just as many "How does (insert players name here) not make it?" with each of the CJ, HL, & BGP all-state teams as there are with the AP regardless of the process.

Congrats to all that made it! I am a little surprised that Hatcher and some OL from Trinity were omitted. Congrats to the 4 birds, IMO Carter New deserved a shout out he had some big games and was a shut down DB.

I was one of the voters and part of the problem with the process is that if a player isn't nominated then you can't vote for them and you can only nominate up to 15 players and those nominations are usually players from your specific area. Neither Mayfield's Jackson nor Timmons were nominated and having seen both of them play while covering the Beechwood-Mayfield game and Conner-Franklin County game they are sure-fire, absolute first-team guys. I'm not sure how the process can change for the better, but it certainly needs to change to make it a much more representative and inclusive process.

Hard to believe Jackson from mayfield didn't make it.

Hard to take this one seriously without him.

I'm sure they are very good, and nothing against them. But, the top two kickers in the state are not on the First Team, the Second Team, nor are they are on the Honorable Mention List. Absolutely wrong.

Can you say definitively that they are better ? My guess is you have not seen much if any of the two from NKY.

 

I've never seen the two you mentioned so I have no clue who is better.
