Spartan79, I'm sure Lampone is as humbled and honored with this recognition almost as much being on part of the 2011 2A State Championship HC team. He should wear his State Championship Ring proudly!

Maybe short of James Quick ( Maybe) Ryan Timmons is better than any reciever thats on that list. Over 2000 yards of total offense and 30 plus touchdowns by himself.

Goose Cohorn 80 receptions for 1121 yards in 8 games at reciever. Not bad IMO. At least for honorable mention??????????????

And it won't matter. You will still have 3 pages of people complaining that someone was left off. Yet not one them will say who shouldn't have been on the list. One of the complaints you see about the AP list is there is no way that anyone that votes has seen every team play. How is that different for the BGP? or the CJ list?

That may be true But anyone who saw Jonathan Jackson play will say he was one of the top players in the state. If I'm not mistaken he was 2nd team AP last year. Does it really matter ? No, but when you look at the list's you like to think they got it mostly right.

I know Pettrey was good and I believe he and the Raceland team came to Mayfield one summer but I would put him as one of the best not the best. Kickers like David Akers(Tates Creek) and Rob Bironas(Trinity) were great kickers and all pro's.

I did not see Jackson play so I can't comment if he should have been on there. However I am guessing that you did not see the other LB'ers (I believe that is what Jackson plays) on the list. Is the list perfect, no. But the fact is no list will be. No matter who makes it there is always people saying their guy got left off. It will be no different for the CJ or the BGP list. Jackson probably deserved to be on there from all accounts from fans on here that have seen him play, Mayfield and otherwise. The problem is who does he replace?

The problem is he runs the Tony Franklin System. Alot of people have a BIG problem on this board with that.

Congrats to Freshman Skylar Griffith and Jefferson Patrick of Williamsburg for HM status, and to Jacob Jeffers also an underclassman. Wow what a bright future for the Jackets!
