It's great to be a Holy Cross Indian! That's the extent of my memory on our High School cheers. Congrats to Holy Cross, Coach Koz and all Holy Cross Fans. And to my mentor John Wysong, I'm sure you had the best seat in the house for this one.

I'm referring to the playoff run, but if they were to play Beechwood now, the game wouldn't be anything like the last time.

By playing the way they have since the start of the playoffs; not to mention HC had a complete meltdown and didn't play anywhere near what they are capable of in the 2nd half against Beechwood back before. Their defense has really tightened up too, which I believe is a very big factor. Giving up a combination of 49 points against New Cath, Somerset, and Glasgow is pretty impressive if you ask me. I don't think anyone else in the playoffs scored on them, including a pretty impressive Owen County team that didn't lose until playing them.

 

They also scored a combination of 105 points against New Cath, Somerset, and Glasgow, which is just as impressive if looking at it. I'm aware that the New Cath game was definitely the closest, but Somerset and Glasgow placed solid teams on the field.

Glasgow never seemed to find a rhythm, certainly looked like the better team by the look test...HC was the better team on the field though.

The look test can't see inside.

I also watched this one at home on the net and with the little I knew about both teams I came away thinking this.

 

One team is much better than I thought, while the other was good, but as good as I thought.

Congratulations to Holy Cross. Went down to the games yesterday with a good friend of mine who's an alumnus of Holy Cross and was in school there when the football program first got started. Made it doubly special to be there for it.

 

Again, Congratulations to Holy Cross. You've come a long way from your first game, that 56-6 loss to Russell County just 13 short years ago. Good luck in the future.
