I'd love to see the stats, how many touches did Gray get tonight? How many did he get on 9/24?

I know Highlands had outgained them 305-94 in the first half. Didn't hear about the second half.

Hats off to the CCH seniors. They had a nice run. Good group of boys. I was glad to see both Ben Maile and Conner Cleves return for their senior season. They both played hard. I hope they enjoyed it.

 

I am going to miss watching Gabe Gray run the ball.

Bruns' play at noseman was the key to Highlands defensive success. Game one he was doubbled most plays. Tonight CCH was not able to doubble him and he had a field day going one on one with Halpin. The only time Bruns was blocked all night was when he was tackled.

There is not a MAC school that Bruns does not start for by his second year at LB. I personally feel like he can play Lb at UC.

Jac Collinsworth and all the Birds recievers know what to do on pass plays that break down , they have an NFL pro teaching them .

 

That certainly helps.

594 total yards for HHS. 352 on the ground.

 

Towles was 11/23 for 218 yards.

Jake True ran for 106.

 

CCH had 194 total yards.

66 for Gray.

Bir 9/22 112 yards.

 

Bruns boys combined for 11 tackles with 4 for a loss.

Too much PT! Devin Bruns was a stud as always and the Bird Defense as a whole rocked. Great win. As far as I'm concerned. You can crown 'em.

Towles simply makes plays. 42 for Highlands made nothing but plays and Gray could never get started. Highlands impressed me a whole lot tonight.

Highlands offense is spectacular. Towels is an absolute stud. I can't wait to see him play in the next few years. And #42 is a beast. Scary good.

 

The bluebirds won't lose this season.

Really surprised that CCH had no answer tonight. Congrats on a good season, but that is an empty compliment when you consider that Highlands/CCH base success on State Championships. If there was any doubt that Highlands can simply reload, you saw it tonight with a really strong running game. The Drive Continues!!!

Wow, Highlands completely dominated the last 21 minutes or so and just took it to my Colonels. PT is maybe the best NKY QB I have ever seen.

It is nice to see Jake True finally get a taste of the limelight. It took four years of hard work to get to the success of the past couple of weeks. Nice job Jake being ready when your time finally came. Jake is a good example of what we see in many players at Highlands. He surely would have experienced much more individual success at another school but he chose to have the rings over the personal accolades. Keep up the good work Jake!

 

Big thumbs up to the Highlands defense and coaches. The coaches put together the plan and the players executed. I definitely expected CCH to get more points on the board. You also have to give credit to Highlands for beating CCH at their own game - taking control of the game by running the ball right over a team in the second half.

 

Tough way for CCH to end a season for the best team since 2006, but only one team is left standing at the end. I know the Colonels wanted to be that last team standing but it was still a great season for the Colonels.

 

Good luck to the Bluebirds. Bring another title back to N. Ky.!
