Wow, there was tailgating all the way uptown. Those must have been the people who parked at the swim club and walked.

Did not expect that wide a margin. The Birds played near perfect football on both sides of the ball tonight. Congrats to the Colonels on a great season!

 

Other than a stretch toward the end of the 2nd Qtr, I agree:

 

1 - offsides on a FG attempt on 4th & 14 (after the D repeatedly reminding each other NOT TO JUMP)

2 - running into the K on a successful FG on 4th & 9

3 - allowing TD on 4th & 4 (after CCH took 3 points off the board)

-- someone in our area of the stands commented "Uncle Mo just switched sides of the field"

4 - dropped long pass on 1st & 10 on ensuing drive w/ 5:06 left in the half

5 - dropped pass on 2nd or 3rd & 10 on same drive

6 - 3 & out (3 passes) when a sustained scoring drive to the end of the half was needed

-- I commented that was the 1st time the team did not look "laser focussed" this season

 

Huge stand by the defense to get the ball back after that.

Sounds like the Birds are firing on all cylinders. I look forward to watching them again in Bowling Green if they win next week.

Since the Camel's season is finished, I took the opportunity to catch this game. I was totally amazed at the speed with which the Birds play the game. It's like watching game film in fast-forward! Congrats to the Colonels on a great season and Good Luck to the Birds as they continue their play-off run!

IMO the MO shifted to the birds in the third quarter when the CCH db dropped a PT throw that hit him in the numbers. Then a few plays later the ball was fumbled and before two CCH players could fall on the ball, it rolled out of bounds. Highlands went on to score and the game was over.

My limited math skills tell me that's a TD shy of 100 offensive touchdowns in 13 games. The offensive skill players jobs were made easier by the tremendous blocking by the O Line. Hats off to ARob, Trapper, Mitch Dee, Drew Napier, Tyler Schweitzer, Jason Thome, and the other O lineman for the holes they created for True, Harris, and Frog, and the time they gave PT to throw. Well done young men.

 

WOW! Named all those guys (well-deserved recognition, by the way) and NOT remember the name of the big-red head, Jason "Where's Waldo" Waldenmeyer???? Big #74 LT, has been instrumental in solidifying the O-line and protecting PT's back side. He's had REMARKABLE improvement each week as the season has progressed and could be considered the o-line's toughest blocker. Goes to show that O-linemen are the Rodney Dangerfields of football! Keep flippin' dem pancakes, Jase!

There weren't too many kids if any at DCM last night coming up with that ball. He was in the right place at the right time though. Just m 2 Cents!!!

I agree, it looked to be a frozen rope about 6 inches of the turf. That would have been one of the best catches ever IMO.

My guess is he got in late last night and then got up early and went to SK for the Sorrell bash and is now resting at home with "the boss."

Just really sad that I might only get to see this group of Seniors at HHS play 2 more times. I'm really getting used to the continued leadership by these young men week in and week out. 1 game at a time boys! Now go get them Knights...
