75center
It seems that there are two camps here on BGP; supporters who provide their expert testimony (snopes links and such), and people like me who cannot understand why he just won't provide his long form Birth Certificate (not certification). I am not saying he wasn't born in the U.S., but his actions certainly have created doubt and it appears as though he is hiding something for whatever reason. Why won't he release the long form BCertificate?? Here's a couple of links that have looked at this situation that I found interesting. http://www.wnd.com/index.php?pageId=104678 http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2011/04/important_difference_between_a.html I liked LN's theory. swamprat
As I've said before, if this is the kind of stuff the Republicans are hanging their hat on, they're cooked. Obama gets 4 more years.

I agree. I am still amazed that everyone waited until after he was POTUS to make this a 'serious issue'.
PurplePride92
They used to but my neighbors kept shooting at them. Plenty of shots by the Dems were put across McCains eligibility bow. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-502163_162-4042166-502163.html http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/28/us/politics/28mccain.html http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/29/world/americas/29iht-29mccain.10560072.html http://www.umichdems.com/?p=211 Had McCain won it seems like this issue still would have surfaced since SR 511 was legally worthless. It just seems there was maybe a 'gentlemen s agreement' between McCain and Obama to avoid the issue altogether in 2008. Then McCain is pretty stupid, naive, dumb for making a gentleman's agreement with an opponent for the Presidency. Wait, his running mate was Palin. Nevermind. Jim Schue
What if he had a hole card better than her hole card (using poker lingo)? It is one of the great mysteries. As for McCain. He would have faced 'birther' issue had he been elected. Granted he only had potential jus soli issues while Obama may have both jus soli and jus sanguinis issues. Since both have at least some questions related to Article II they likely approached the issue like a mutually assured destruction (MAD) pact. Another strange thing - it was Democrats who introduced SR 511. Designed to 'declare' McCain a natural born Citizen. Why would Democrats help John McCain? So there are some strange why did they do or not do things in this back in 2008. I can't imagine anything better to use against an opponent than the fact that they legitimately are ineligible for election. It stops everything. How can one counter that? Buying the birther argument means you believe that the Clintons, out of the goodness of their hearts, had this information yet chose not to use it, even though it would have assured her nomination. The same kind of people who buy the birther argument tend also to be the ones who believe Bill Clinton has made a policy of having his political enemies killed. How is Clinton having Jordan (or whoever else) killed entirely plausible while assuming they just "took a pass" on the birther information? It just doesn't make sense, when you use logic. Dlbdonn
Sorry, Huffingtonpost and rational just don't go together. Did you even bother to read it . It is reporting on a good Morning America show that I saw with Michele Bachmann and George Stephanopoulos where he had a copy of the Birth Certificate from Hawaii . It is a truly ignorant person that that refuses to at least consider every and all sources .
PurplePride92
I love The Huffington Post. They tell it like it is more so than other political websites. I was put on to it by Obama haters ironically.

Nope, I don't need convincing and it's one of the whacked out websites I choose not to add to their hit numbers and increase their income. Plenty of other places to go for information. mcpapa
In all seriousness, while I do lean farther left than most on here, I don't restrict my reading to just one side of the idealogical equation. 75center
I think it's great to read both sides, I just try to stay away from the sites at both ends of the spectrum that would rather toss bombs than report the stories.
