RomanEmpire
I simply cannot understand why he just can't provide a normal birth certificate. What's the big deal? Just provide it and put all the skeptics to rest.

bugatti
I simply cannot understand why he just can't provide a normal birth certificate. What's the big deal? Just provide it and put all the skeptics to rest. As a Political Science major with an interest in campaign strategy, he would be foolish to release any more information unless that number became much higher. The vast majority of people do not doubt his citizenship. That is one of the few issues he has a distinct advantage on... if you even want to call it an issue. By not releasing it he is making a segment of the Republican party look loony. When it comes down to pulling the lever, people will often decide between which side they associate themselves with, minus the core value issues. We all know how everyone is automatically lumped in to one category. The rationale is that prevailing thoughts will show that all Republicans believe Obama was not born in the U.S.
Bluegrasscard
Here is a situation that is interesting - the Prime Minister of Thailand admits he has Dual British Citizenship - currently. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/24/abhisit-vejajjiva-thai-pr_n_827557.html Relevant quote from above - "He would have to specifically renounce it to lose it." Specifically that is British government form RN - http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/nationality/form_rn.pdf Now, go to the site backed by the political group associated with the current President: http://fightthesmears.com/articles/5/birthcertificate.html "As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.‘s children." As you can see the 'Eligibility Issue' goes well beyond a piece of paper. As the apes told Charlton Heston - be careful what you search for you may not like what you find. I will leave it at that....
UKMustangFan
This garbage makes me embarrassed to have once called myself a Republican. TTC, the Libertarian Party is always accepting new members!
