Went golfing and didn't get back in enough time to catch it, hopefully I will see a re airing.

Was it better than Run Ricky Run? In which I thought was one of the better 30 for 30s so far.

I can't wait until they release all of these on DVD. I've enjoyed every one I've caught but I've missed a bunch.

The Two Escobar's is my favorite though.

I missed that one but wanted to see it. The South Africa rugby story was just the Invictus story wasn't it? So that I did not care to see. The list of them are cool. The '04 Red Sox comeback against the Yankees does not really fit in with the theme of these so I am interested to see how they put it together.

MJ gambled at the casinos, Pete gambled on the sport that he was playing...totally different.

And for those of who you believe the conspiracy theory, how come no one has ever come out and outed MJ? You don't think news outlets, authors, anyone would pay millions for that type of information? No way was he suspended from basketball. He brough in so much money for David Stern.

Michael Jordan keeps a pretty tight circle of friends, and access is severely limited. Those friends are all quite wealthy -- my guess is they couldn't pay enough to those people who would be in the know to outweigh the loss of Jordan's friendship (and, given how insanely competitive and spiteful Jordan is, they probably wouldn't want to risk Jordan's efforts at revenge for betraying him).

I don't buy it. I don't have the faith in human nature that some of you guys have...a story this big could not be buried for 20 years.

Also, I don't see why it's so hard to believe he would do this. Again, I look at human nature. Jordan had driven himself to the highest degree, he had proven himself the greatest player who ever lived, and lead Chicago to three straight titles. There's absolutely no question that Chicago would have won the '93-94 title had he returned. There was no longer anything to push or challenge him in basketball. I think a guy like Jordan needed that. Now, that in itself may not have been enough, but you factor in the murder of his father...he didn't just pass away expectedly of old age or some illness, he died an untimely and shocking death. In my experience, there's a big difference in the emotional impact between those two. And, finally, if his dad truly did tell him to try baseball...

It's not the least bit hard for me to accept this story at face value. It's far, far easier to believe than the suspension theory. I'll file that next to the moon landing hoax. And, I recently heard a guy say that he thought all the wars fought were just staged for financial reasons. But, I digress...

I see what you mean, to a degree. However, Jordan has revealed himself in recent years to be hyper-competitive even beyond what we thought. I don't necessarily see him stepping away from the game on his own. Not in his prime, costing him a couple titles. If there was no more challenge left for him to fulfill for himself, why come back? For that matter, why come back not once but twice?

I don't buy it. Too many people inside the league would know. Zero chance that word doesn't get out. If Sam Smith doesn't know about it that tells me it's not true.

I can think of several possibilities, all of which may have contributed.

First, stepping away from the game for basically two seasons may have recharged his batteries.

But, more importantly IMO, the challenge and drive was back upon his return. There were a lot of doubters and naysayers with regards to his comeback. Many people didn't think he'd be able to return to his previous level, nor lead the Bulls back to the top. So, Jordan had the motivation when he came back to prove that he could sit out, try another sport, and still be the best basketball player in the world.

For the second comeback, my guess would be that he was motivated to play against the young, up-and-comers like Kobe. Also, I don't think he wanted to retire the second time, but the Bulls GM and owner seemed bent on proving that they could win without Michael and re-build a team that did not need rebuilding, had they kept it intact.

That one was great...I agree with you on that.

I missed it too and wanted to watch it really bad. Hopefully I'll catch it sooner or later. The Allen Iverson one was pretty good too. Other favorites I have watched was the Birth of Big Air and The U.

One Night in Vegas, the one airing on September 7th looks real good. Is going to be about the night of Tupac Shakurs murder in Las Vegas and how he and Mike Tyson were friends. Pac was at the fight and was supposed to be hanging out with Iron Mike after the fight at an after party. Shakur never made it there though. Sounds like its going to document the whole night and Tupac/Tysons friendship.

I enjoyed The U one, but it just went on too long. 2 hours was too much. June 17, 1994 was done well. The Jimmy the Greek one was very cool and probably my favorite. I was disappointed in the Rotisserie League.

I thought the roto league one was one of the best. They took the perfect tongue-in-cheek approach and called it what it is. To paraphrase an ongoing Bill Simmons gag, it's what his wife calls "The League Of Dorks."
