March 30, 201016 yr If you want a program that's truly hated, look no farther than Duke. UK produces a regional hatred....Duke is hated by people all over the country. Have to disagree here. To prove my point, I go to Vegas to watch March Madness. Trust me, UK is hated by lots from all over. I asked a guy one time why, and he told me honestly that he didn't like UK because of their tradition and all of the success they have had. He admitted to being jealous. He was from California. I hate it when "haters" try to speak for the true UK fans. They have no idea where we are coming from, but like to think they do. It's funny.
March 30, 201016 yr Bandwagon haters. If UK gets beat then haters jump all over that team. Lucky for me I'm a full timer then .
March 30, 201016 yr I think I get the message. Note to self, ... you are not permitted to post on UK matters any longer. You are making the 18% mad as well as those who don't like UK.
March 30, 201016 yr I hate when haters act just like the fans of the team they're hatin' on. BINGO! I wont name names...not my style, but in another thread just last night/this morning a PROUD UK HATER even stated he was an 18%er of HIS TEAM. LOL. Yet, he berates UK fans at every opportunity for being an 18%. You just nailed it Rock Mom.
March 30, 201016 yr I hate when haters act just like the fans of the team they're hatin' on. Which is what every hater is doing. There is a difference in not being a UK fan and being a hater however I believe. They go out of their way to try to make the public aware that they are not a "crazy UK fan." Seriously, who's more obsessed? :thumb: Bandwagon haters. If UK gets beat then haters jump all over that team. Like the sudden rush of WVU fans on this board.... When they refuse to acknowledge that all teams have their "18%" and that UK's is simply larger due to the amount of fans we have. Great point man. Every team has them. Well practically every team that is a winner. U of L has them, UC has them, OSU has them, everyone has them. It's not just UK, it just seems like it because the majority of people in this state like UK and have been raised to be UK fans. Some people just cannot understand how people who have been raised in KY are not UK fans and that gets on people's nerves. :thumb:
March 30, 201016 yr I find it incredulous that anyone would "hate" over a basketball team. Ditto. I know that there are some huge rivalries (not just in basketball). Ohio State-Michigan. Alabama-Auburn. Army-Navy. Clemson-South Carolina. Duke-North Carolina. In fact, I'm having a hard time coming up with a "UK rival" that approaches any listed above. Possibly UK-Louisville. I just don't get "hate", whether towards Kentucky or from Kentucky towards some other team. Now, the New York Yankees might just be another story.

March 30, 201016 yr I find it incredulous that anyone would "hate" over a basketball team. Good call. I am 50. I quit "hating" athletes and teams 25 years ago.
March 30, 201016 yr What irks me the most about UK haters is that they can hate on your team, but get offended when you hate on THEIR team...
March 30, 201016 yr BINGO! I wont name names...not my style, but in another thread just last night/this morning a PROUD UK HATER even stated he was an 18%er of HIS TEAM. LOL. Yet, he berates UK fans at every opportunity for being an 18%. You just nailed it Rock Mom. Go ahead and name names. And while you are at it, show proof of where this anonymous person berates UK fans for being in the 18%. If it is who I think it is, I have never seen this person berate anyone on here or being an 18%. I have seen this person make many sarcastic posts that obviously the written word does not translate as well for, but berate, not hardly.
March 30, 201016 yr What irks me the most about UK haters is that they can hate on your team, but get offended when you hate on THEIR team... That doesn't bother me that much when it is a sensible discussion, but there is always a time in the thread when the discussion takes a turn for the worse. You can't expect everyone to play nice even though it'd be nice if everyone would. Some people hate UK but don't actively hate on UK on here but still get treated as a UK hater. If I wasn't so PROUD(sarcasm there, big guy) about my hatred towards UK most people wouldn't even know I am not a UK fan. It's not hard to have a sensible discussion when everyone involved is being sensible. Unfortunately, sensible discussions never last long.
March 30, 201016 yr I really don't have a problem with UK haters. I mean sure, I give some on here a hard time, but that's more to just see if I can ruffle some feathers. I actually have more of a problem and get irked more by fellow UK fans (not specifically on here), due to the fact that they give the level-headed rational ones of us (like myself), a bad name.
